Hi all. I have read alot about beta getting water in oil and why and how to fix...my oil is super cloudy and is actually starting to act like a glue rather than an oil! Really bad sticking clutch...anyway...I have taken off the small outer cover (pics attached) and I was expecting to see lots of corrosion or gunk. The case looks almost new and the seal looks water tight? I have tried to get the seal out, so I can check the wear on the shaft, but to no avail! Does anyone have any good tips and tricks to getting it out?? Also if it's not the seal or shaft can water be getting into oil from anywhere else? Thanks in advance for the help!!

I've recently bought myself a beta Rev 3, and Iam having a few problems. Iam not a mechanical minded person but willing to learn, my bike cut out the other day and for the life in me I could not get it to start, having pushing it about a mile back home I realised one of the breather pipes had melted around the exhaust. I replaced the pipe hoping that would be the fix, but still no joy.... Any ideas guys

Over the past few outings, I have noticed a clunking noise coming from the front end. Have done all of the usual stuff, headstock, front wheel bearings, tighten forks, check fork internals Check frame mounts, cracks in frame etc, etc, still have clunking sound. Mainly happens when front becomes light. Only other thing I have thought of could be fork stiction? Any help would be appreciated

Well I have finally settled my internal Sherco/Rev 3 dilema and have got myself what seems like a tidy and solid 2004 270 rev 3. Took it out for its first dust down ride today (not so much dust as mud) just to blow the cobwebs off it and snag any small issues. The usual little things for a 4-5 year of bike (ie levers, pedals, sprocket all seen better days, tyres shot and a small amount of residue oil showing on the fork legs). Little things to deal with but most importantly the brakes were spot on, the engine and gear box were sweet and it rode well. So a few questions to bring me up to speed.... Am probably going to be competing once a month and practicing for 2-3 hou…

I currently ride a Rev3 270 and although it's fun having all that power for when you're fooling around with mates that same power frequently gets me into trouble, especially during trials. I've been looking around for a new (used) bike recently with the intention of buying a 250 but I've come across a nice clean '04 Rev3 200 and it's got me thinking. I'm aware of the conventional wisdom that says most clubman level riders are over-biked and a 200 (or even 125) will encourage the development of proper technique as opposed to relying on raw grunt to get through sections. The problem is, I'm (*ahem*) on the large side (17st) and a bit concerned that it'll occasionally strugg…

i have a 2008 270 rev3 and its a bit of a handful, it just seems to take off or wheel spin? i treid my freinds and his was much easier to ride and control. i could ride his slow on the banks, but mine seems alot more powerful and harder to control the only differance i can think of was his was well used and mines not, will mine calm its self down? i have checked and the flywheel weight is still on.............. so im thinking of trying a slow action throttle

Is it me..?! Why oh why is it such a pain in the a*** to start the evo 4t when it's hot? I love the bike, but my God it's testing my patience. Am I the only one? Any suggestions? I try the hot start switch, I try without. I try with throttle and without. There is no pattern. It wouldn't be so bad if I could leave it ticking over between sections, but neutral is as elusive as the global recovery!!!!

Hi, I bent the rear caliper bracket on my '01 Rev3 250, pictured on the left of the attached picture. I ordered a new one, part # 28-94550, and got the one pictured on the right. The new one cannot be made to fit. Does anyone know if I got the wrong part number or if they changed the bracket and the older one is no longer available? Thanks, Greg

My new 250 came with a 100 link 520 chain fitted, and the tyre was only millimetres from the swinging arm. On compresssion and within minutes, the tyre had rubbed a hole through the rubber flap which keeps the monoshock clean. I am fitting a 102 link chain to allow the wheel to move back a tad and then fit a new rubber guard. Be aware if your's is on order.

I recently drained the oil in my bike for the first time after buying it and found the oil was pink, is this atf fluid? I purchased maxima 75 w oil to replace the old oil and replaced the sight glass and all the sealing washers and refilled the gearbox and found i now had a leak from the main clutch case gasket. I have bought a complete engine gasket set and tonight split the clutch side casing and left the bike on its side to completly drain out the rest of the the pink oil from the clutch area. Whilst doing the above i removed the spark plug which i have not done since i bought the bike and found a droplet of water on the end of the plug, now i don't know if i touched t…

Asking for a friend who is presently without internet access. His 4t Beta with the 300 kit is pouring gas overboard through the carb overflow. Our local dealer switched out the carb 3 times with the same results. The dealer then put the offending carb on another 4t w/300 kit and there was no leaking. We're all baffled. Any input, suggestions or experiences with this problem are greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
