I bought a beta zero of my dads mate When I took the plastics of I discovered they was no brake fluid (front and back), no water, the air filter box was thick with mud. I took of the top when I cleaned my bike, but I think I got water down the air tube into the carb. I shoved a few rags into the tube and got the water out but I think they will still be dirt and dust in the carb. What should I do? Also I oiled the filter and it looks ok. The other thing if it had no water it properly has no gearbox oil. Can any 1 tell me how I can top it up and, list a few other things that it properly needs. Tires are set at perfect p.s.i and are brand new Thanks

Hey folks, I just brought home a new (old) 2000 Beta Rev3 270. This is my first trials bike, but I've been riding trails for 15 or so years. I can already tell it's a handful! But I'm not scared (much, lol) I've been doing a fair amount of googling trying to find various sources for parts/accessories for this fine steed, but I'd like to get some advice from the well seasoned Beta gurus. One things is I'm trying to figure out parts compatibility. It's a 2000 model year, but what other model years have interchangeable parts? The 2001 seems pretty similar, just different color plastics? It needs a new rear fender, and the fork se…

I went to fire up my 02 Rev3 270 and had no spark. Just for background the bike has run great. Ran it a week ago and turn it off. About 2 months ago I put in a new stator because I buggered it up taking off the flywheel. So here's what I've done so far. No spark a the spark plug. No spark from sparkplug wire. no power out of coil Checked the red wire coming out of the store. Power coming out of there. Checked the wires that plug into the coil. Just barely a reading on the volt meter. I called Beta USA and they said it might be the black box as they hardly ever seen a coil go bad. I disconected the kill switch to see if it was maybe stuck and grounding it out bu…

I have a 2004 rev3 250cc, how much engine oil should I add or is there a certain level on the inspection window o should be aiming for? Also the other day I could hear a sparking/ arking sound, after looking I could see sparks coming from the top of the coil where there is a connector. Any ideas what is wrong and what I need to do to sort it?

I have a Beta 200 EVO that needs a new chain, but it’s 101 links with a half link. I can’t find one anywhere, apart from Beta uk, but the chain is £80 plus postage. Can anyone suggest a supplier or will I need to buy a chain plus half link and rivet it to the chain?

Does anyone turn off the fuel and let the engine cut out thus clearing the carb and fuel line after the last ride of the day? Could it be damaging? (Beta Evo 250)

Hi, I have an 06 beta 250, it will be 1 year old this month. went out riding on saturday ran fine for an hour an a half, stopped for a drink, when i went to start it again it started then died, all my mates took the p***, saying oh stator gone, stators gone. could not get the bugger to go again, changed the plug, checked the fuel, checked to see if there was a spark and there wasn't, so i took out my coil and tried it on my mates 07 it worked ok, then i took my console(cdi?) out, that worked ok on his. unpluged my kill button still no joy. only thing left is the stator(i think) which has really peed me off, i take the plastic cover off after every ride start the bike,…

I am losing coolant and the emulsification of the new gear oil seems to indicate where it is going. A strip of the pump shows it to be in good order with no corrosion of the casing but there is slight vertical movement on the shaft though the seal looks okay (for what that

I have just bought my eldest son a 2007 Rev 80, and by my standards the top end is noisy. I bought a second 2003 Rev 80 for my youngest which is positively silent by comparison! A couple of questions: 1. Are there differing piston sizes/tolerances (like MX bikes), or is there just the one size? If there are various sizes, how do I know which to buy? Is there a mark on the cylinder anywhere? 2. Are the base gaskets of differing thicknesses (like KTM/Yamaha) and if so, how do you know which one to buy? 3. Where can I get a workshop manual (or even better download)? I used to compete in Enduro on KTMs and they were very straightforward. The trials bike rebuilding is sl…

Quick question. I recently polished out a few pit marks on my tank. The aluminium has lost its brushed appearance and is now shiny in this area despite different grades of water paper. Any ideas why this might be? How can I retore the appearance of the aluminium?

Hi, My front brake has stopped working. The lever comes all the way back to the handle bar grip and the adjuster screw is right in as well. It was fine when i was out on it last week and seems to have happened over night. Tryed to bleed it just now, but when i pull on the lever nothing comes through. I think its the master cylinder but am not sure. Also, if it is, how do i go about changing it. Ive never worked on brakes before so dont really know what im doing!!!!

as some of you may already know i've just bought a '97 beta techno 250. It's my first trials bike after a few years riding enduro, and had a quick play on it tonight and rather enjoyed it! pulls well, hopping over rocks etc! thought i'd give it a good service so got carb off, going to do oil, calipers are both coming off etc I took the side casing off and there is a bit of play in the flywheel :s I've heard on some bikes this is normal? I don't know whether it is excessively vibey or not as I've only just bought the bike and the engine is so vastly different from the ktm's I'm used to i can't tell if it's rattly or not to be honest! (went to a trial last week and they a…

My 2004 250 Rev3 used to start on the first or second kick. I since rode it back in November and it took 7 or 8 kicks to get it going from cold. I didn't think much of it at the time, but when I came to ride it in early Jan, it wouldn't start. Changed the spark plug and it started. Then, tried to fire it up last weekend and it would not start at all: changed plug, drained float bowl, blew out jets... nothing. Plug sparks when I kicj it over with the plug out. Any suggestions on what else to look at?

Hi everybody. Broke the front mudguard on my 2010 evo today (not a great day, also knee damage causing first retirement in many years!). I'm not a great fan of the evo front mudguard and was thinking of a change. Does anyone know if the Gas Gas mudguard will fit? Does the Gas Gas fork brace fit? Does the black OSSA mudguard fit, and will it fit onto the Gas Gas brace (as the OSSA one is horrifically expensive - I presume it's some fancy material)? I suppose the '08 Rev3 mudguard and brace is the other option? Any help (or alternative suggestions) gratefully received.

Hello all, I have a 2004 Rev 3 270. It is new to me and I have ridden the bike a few times and all was fine. Last time I took it out, I had no clutch until the bike was warmed up. Then it worked fine. I checked the master cylinder; fluid was fine and looked for leaks but there were none. Not sure if this matters, but the bike sat for a few weeks between rides. Anyone have any ideas on what to check? Thanks

Hi there, I have just bought my first trails bike a Beta 250 2005. The bike was sent to me crated with the front wheel off and the spindle on the forks....Just a quick question with regards to a washer that was on the spindle...should this washer indeed be on there and would it be on the outside of the spacers...(poss at the Disk Side)??? I would have thought that there would have been nothing either side of the spacers but not sure. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Right, I recently replaced a fair few bits on my 96' Techno because the water pump seal had gone, that included the shaft as it was showing slight wear from the seal, and I did the bearings & impeller at the same time. The shaft now supplied is a 2 piece assembly with a nylon drive gear, not all steel as the original. It matched up ok, and seemed to go in fine though. However, upon reassembly and running it for a very (very) short time, there was a 'graunching'/grinding noise that I didn't like, so I stopped it quickly, and I've had the clutch out again tonight, only to find there are lots of little bits of white nylon in the bottom of the clutch case, and it woul…

hi all. only just got in to trails riding so i purchased a reasonably priced 96 techno 250, great bike and was having a lot of fun on her untill she just stopped, changed plug and looked for spark. no spark. I know what your all thinking. stator. I first checked all wiring both visually and with a meter. all checked out fine. tested stator a bit low so i sent it off to wcw who said it was shot and rewound, refitted and all seemed well for about an hour then nothing just stopped. oh how i wished it was fuel starvation but i just knew it was something else so checked for spark nudder. took everything apart again all looked fine, tested coil/ht lead on friends bike, goo…
