Hi All, I'm building a 350 Jumbo for competition and was wondering if anyone has matched the cases on the motor? Did it make a difference? If so what difference? Thanks

Saw this on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ME:B:SS:GB:1123 Says that the 240 & 320 are the same barrel but bored out, is this correct ? Are the heads completely different or modified to suit ? Also how many rings does a 320 (280) piston have ? Thanks in advance Ross

As above, the exact colour or colour code for the SWM frames still eludes me, I was told the Subaru WRX blue (code 02C) was a close match, and indeed it is close but still not close enough for me. I know I'm being pedantic here, but since I've started paint stripping my Jumbo which was obviously re-painted in the wrong shade of blue by a previous owner (refer attached pic), I have found traces of the original slightly metallic and darker blue underneath and it's not quite the same as Subaru WRX blue. Any advice appreciated. Also still chasing info on my previous post regarding seat/tank/shroud arrangement.

  7. Guys thanks for your help, I'm now the owner of a 1980 TL320.,,.brought her back at 1pm....stripped down by 5pm ready for powder coating and refit. No nasty surprises but a few things I've noticed: Gearing seems high....running 14/40 at the moment.....thinking of going to a 13 front. Clutch is light, positive and I can get nuetral too...easier than my my Beta REV3! But there is no undertank lever lightener system....cable goes from lever direct to clutch cover. Shes a little crackly on the noise front....is it possible to repack the silencer....which weighs more than boat anchor? Trans oil.....10/40? Any advise welcome

Question for any of you SWM owners whose bikes have a nice light clutch action - How do you set up the clutch spring tension? Are the pressure plate bolts tightened right up to the end of their travel and left like that or are they then backed off so many turns. Bike in question is a Jumbo which has the lightener under the tank connected up but the clutch action on the lever is very heavy - the pressure plate bolts are screwed all the way in so I'm wondering if they should be backed off a little but as I have no manual or set up info I've no idea. I can experiment obviously but if someone knows how they should be set it would make life easier than trial and error. Alt…

I have a newer style clutch cover with the larger actuator balls I would like to install on my 1980 SWM TL320. I would like to see if it does pull a little easier and my original cover has a small crack in it and needs repairing. I also have the newer pressure plate. Do I need anything else? The hub from the ATK (Rotax 244) parts book has a different part number than the older style SWM. Will I need to change that too? Thanks

Hi all I am thinking of moving my condensor to up by the coil under the tank, and while I am at it put a second one there. Can anyone suggest a type of condensor they have used which has worked OK and where to get it? Looking around there are lots of different types from various bikes. I was thinking one with a bracket to make it easy to mount, is there a specific specification I should look for? Mr. Nolan has lent me one with .59 Italy 10F stamped on it Mick

If you cut a SWM back box vertically and long ways, the bit nearest the wheel is a series of baffles. The outside doesn't appear to be connected at all, whats that all about, eh ?

Anybody looking for a good swm have a look on woobly wills, Gary the seller is a good guy and the price seems very reasonable for a bike of this spec in this condition. "The bike has been rebuilt and bored to 250 ,enduro piston from Martin still needs running in .Burgat spec flywheel ,Betors forks in Marzocchi legs the best steering option, modern lowered footrests ,good splines ,new kickstart, good Falcons ,tyres, wheels ,new shoes ,plastics .The bottom end is from an Aprilia TXR ,different gear ratios and gearbox shaft splines ."
