Have any of you SWM lads fitted an electronic ignition to your bikes? If so where did you get it from,was it easy to fit,what difference did it make to the bike,cost etc.Any help greatly appreciated

Hi all ! Anyone got any experience about having Magnesium casings professionly welded (with MG welding Rod) ? I intend sending three clutch casings to be welded they say its no problem but can only be done from experts that have the right material and knowledge.

Hi folks Rode my newly acquired 280 yesterday. I think its an 80 or 81 model. Black frame with sumpguard and Marzocchi forks. Can you answer some questions How much oil and what grade for the forks ? Pre mix 50:1 ? What oil for gearbox ? Bike has dellorto carb which I am about to clean , any ideas on std jet sizes and needle for uk ? Cheers

Hi guys (and galls) I´ve just got hold of a TLM320 Gunaco (with the long ride seat) . It´s an early one and has a clutch cover (casing) thats different to my other ones as it has a seperate small cover in the casing that can be taken off and just one plastic screw cap. Anyone else seen this sort before ? Cheers Ian

Hi all, The main bearings in my Jumbo are growling suggesting needing new ones. Question is - do I have to split the cases to replace like the bultaco engine? Anything I should look out for whilst replacing these? Thanks in advance! Markg

Hopefully somebody has a full length kickstart lever to fit my SWM tl320, some years ago (20+ ) I replaced mine with I think one off an Aprilia TX/TXR/Climber which hit the footrest so with a bit of heat, well a lot of heat I bent it to match the original lever. I have dug it out from the dark corner of the garage to restore to a usable trials bike ( the joys of retirement) but with the problem of being 20+ years older & having short legs I cannot get it to start ! I have purchased a new one off of Ebay apparently for an SWM but the only part that will fit is the spline Knuckle part the lever is still too short & will fowl the footrest. Pictures are …

I am the new proud owner of a 1983 SMW 350 Jumbo, in all it's yellow glory. Bought it from a local rider (thanks Wayne!). The engine has been fully rebuilt and has just a couple of hours of riding on it. I guess over the next few weeks (month?) as I get familiar with the bike and start riding it / tuning it to my liking I will have many questions. Finally started to pull apart my 81 PECO 200 SWM . Not many of these were made, Not even sure if any others have survived out there. It was a small company called "Performance Equip CO" here in the UK that modified the std 125 SWM trials , I believe 6 were made, but some of this is just folklore, would love to hear more snippets about the history of these if anyone really knows .. Any way I've owned it from Circa 1985, Although my memorys not as good as it was, and apologies in advance for the fuzzy photos. And Yes it was a black frame model when it was first made... Hi all. In the process of "trying" to remove the barrel for a re-bore. The four long studs that go right through to the crank case are solid. Haven't been touched for decades. I have been regularly spraying them with wd40 & duck oil but so far no movement. A friend has suggested a hot air gun, which I haven't bought yet, is this the best way ? Any other suggestions ? Hi guys, I thought you might like to see my latest SWM project. It started as a pretty nice 1981 TL230 but never one to just have a standard bike I decided to set out on a project to use the standard bike as the basis for something a little different. The frame was first and I decided (with the help of Rob Homer) to remove the top frame tube and the seat rails and make a tank as part of the frame with tubes welded inside to route the cables. The seat rails were replaced with straight tubes so that the new seat and side panels would sit flat and also form the top of the airbox (this dropped the seat height by about 3 inches). Hi, following on from my road registrations thread, I was looking at my Gori and it has some signs it was registered at some point: The full format of the frame number is *MT325*1331xx* am going to try the DVLA (as I was born in Yorkshire and am too tight to pay for a HPI) to see if they can find a record for it but does anybody have one that was registered from new as I wondered if the full frame number is given on the log book or just the last 6 digits?
