SWM

i have seen a few bikes with straight through exhaust mufflers and like the idea but also like the look of the original exhaust. i decided to cut one open and see what i could do. i have attached some photos that should be self explanitary but if not please ask. i fitted it to the bike this afternoon and it sounded different but still as quiet as the original setup, it also felt quite a but more perky but this was only in quite a small area so i will give it a proper test on monday once its painted and refitted.

Can anyone help with a replacement front brake arm (Marzocchi front end) as mine has 'rounded off' the square edges and now has so much slack I can't operate the front brake without resulting to a 'workaround''? I may try and weld up and refinnish the arm but a replacement would be a quicker and more elegant solution. I wonder if Fantic arms fit, those fitted with Grimeca hubs? many thanks

Have any of you SWM lads fitted an electronic ignition to your bikes? If so where did you get it from,was it easy to fit,what difference did it make to the bike,cost etc.Any help greatly appreciated

Has anyone tried an oko carb on a swm (disc valve 280cc engine model) What was the result and what jetting did you go with? Dave

Can someone offer a recommendation to a carburetor (and jet sizes) to use on a Jumbo (350) ? My Jumbo doesnt have the reeds and is not the rotary induction. A Delorto PHBH 30mm is the OEM carb for my Jumbo. I'd prefer to use a round slide carburetor. So, Im thinking a newer style Delorto or a Nibbi. Im not interested in using a OKO (I rentlessely tried a 28mm with no luck). My Jumbo engine was just rebuilt (top and bottom end) and there are no air leaks. No matter what I do, I can't get rid of a lean condition found below 1/4 throttle....and still have mid and top correct.... it seems to be either or. so, Im at the point to try a new carb. Thanks.

Hi Can anybody advise as to what pressure to use in a Betor expert rear shock (new) & at 360mm are they the correct length (being a short a*** a 340mm would help me to reach the ground!) any thoughts, please. SWM 320 1982

AS clutches are a major talking point on the Forum, AND i was a bit bored last night !!.. thought i'd do some measurements of the Clutch lever actuation while my 320 is stripped down. ( Excuse the slightly blurred pics and the Dirt in the casings !!.) These are just for Information , as I'd not seen these measurements stated (So hope this helps anyone in some way ) .. And they're from a pretty worn engine, but I expect them to be reasonably accurate. (is that enough disclaimers !!)

Hi all, I have the following problem. I need 3 x new shocks for 2 x TL320´´s and a 350 Jumbo. I thought they were all 340 mm but Inmotion say they should be 360 mm ? On swm-moto.org data sheet it says 340 mm for all mod. I can remember Martin telling me 340 mm also. I then measured some of my old ones and found that a very early TL320 "Gunaco" I have (which has the old red shocks with the external resevoir on it) are 360 mm. On a 1981 TL320 (which has Marzochi units) they are 340 mm ???

Has anybody found a suitable replacement for a SWM steel tanked Fuel cap/Petrol Cap? Any help gratefully received. P.S. I've asked Martin already.

Anyone know a source for rotax kick start hubs(not the lever, the piece that clamps on the shaft)? Mine snapped the other day and I have not had much luck finding a replacement. Is Comeca still in business, they were offering them a few months back, but I can't seem to find them on the web now. Help! Thanks ,Jim

Hello people, can anyone help me locate a kick start lever to suit the knuckle that uses a circlip, it's for a Jumbo but I think any kick start lever for a TL trials bike will fit. Cheers. I have been wanting a SWM trials bikes since I was in high school in the early 80s. I got to ride a 81 TL 320 for a day and really liked it. It handles as good as some of the modern trials bikes I have had! Has awesome power and torque! I felt very confident on the bike. It took me a long time but last year I finally found a 80 SWM TL320. It's in rough shape needs a complete rebuild, I probably paid way too much and it's still not finished. When it's finished it will be my main trials bike for vintage trials. I would like to find another TL for back up also an Enduro GS SWM for vintage cross country. Where do you find these bikes? I look on Craigslist, eBay all the…

Only one shock mount position on number 2. Things to fix - find a decomp.; clutch cable knackered and other clutch ease of use mods; find a flywheel cover protector; and get two kick starter stops to protect cases for no. 1 and no. 2; new side covers, seat and rear fender; modify the enduro bend kicker supplied with it to get it fitting against the frame when not being used.

Anyone out there know the SWM factory mechanics who wrenched on the Works bikes ? Might be interesting to pick thier brains about engine mods ,ect. Has anyone tried one of the flatslide carbs on a 320? Cheers ,Jim
