So today I had a days training with Alexz Wigg on my Beta Rev3 250. Well, I say a day, after a couple of hours I binned it into a rock and snapped the clutch hose union off at the reservoir - day over early (great!). We’d been discussing bikes and I mentioned how I bought the Rev3 because I wanted a cheap entry to the sport but I was thinking of getting something newer and smaller, maybe a Beta 200 now that I had got myself hooked. I told him that what I really fancied initially was an old Ty175 or Fantic 200 as they were what I wanted when I was young, but that I’d been advised to get something modern as it would be easier to learn on. This is why I ended up with t…

Just picked up a 200 Fantic with a few issues. Sorted the HT Coil out and found an air filter boot from In Motion but I need the round cover for the air box. Where can I find one? at the moment it has a 7 inch grinding disc in place but I would prefere a plastic one.

Hello, Never had trails bike before but always wanted one. Local guy near me selling 1998 Fantic K-roo 250, asking $2000. From the photos and his description bikes seems in very good shape. My questions: 1. Is this a fair price for the model and year? 2. Is it hard to find spare parts in the USA? 3. any major issues with this model? Thank you!

I have just had a new Morad tubeless rim fitted to the rear of my 240 pro and it is forever leaking/ deflating but only whilst riding. Come home pump it up fine no leaks I ride with Michelein X11 and have changed the tyres twice now to eliminate a tyre failure. I have come to the decision the rim is too small has anyone else had this issue. Manufacture date 4/19

Hi Guys. I've just changed the gear oil on my Fantic TX 250 (125 twin shock model backward kickstart). About 1200ml came out. I thought these only took a litre. I haven't used the bike for nearly 2 years and just wanted to check whether I need 1200ml or possible more or is 1 litre enough? Thanks in advance.. Julian

Hi. I'm new to the forum, and have just bought a fairly original (I think) fantic 200 1980. I've done everything that i think I'm capable of, I've got basic tools and no real mechanical knowledge. I've cleaned carb (it looks ok ?) fitted new rear shocks and silencer, new spark plug and air filter. It's still not starting well, if it does start it runs at high revs but dies without choke. Last couple of days it won't start at all. I'm probably now at the end of my capabilities. Does anyone now anybody in the Worksop, Rotherham, Doncaster area that might be able to take it in and solve what I hope is a simple issue. Or should I first replace dell orto carb with a new one be…

I’m the proud owner of a Fantic 240 which is displaying a detonation sound. I’ve already noted the post in December 2019, which covered this topic but did not provide a cure. Although the member did say what he’d done had reduced it. Just wondering if anyone has found a cure for it since that last post. To set the scene, the engine has had a full rebuild, new piston, rebore, cylinder coated, all bearings and seals. It sounds wonderful apart from the occasional detonation sound. The carb is a new Dellorto, jetted as per the manual. It has a brand new front pipe and WES rear silencer. I’ve just put a new NGK plug in her and some super unleaded fuel at 70:1 mix wit…

Hey I have some questions, kind of a lot of them! 1. Do you put just straight distilled water in the 1992 Fantic 259 kroo, or can you put radiator fluid as well? 2. Is there a manual or a spec sheet available for general servicing? 3. Does anyone know how many CC's they take of fork oil, ball park? 4. Where if anywhere can I get replacement cosmetic parts? Sorry I know some of these questions have been asked by anyone who has purchased a Fantic but I can't seem to find any info anywhere. Thanks in advance!

I have just got a lovely fantic 200 but the only thing letting it down is the rubber that joins the exhaust to the silencer , someone’s just used a old hose and when you drop the bike the silencer moves and splays the exhaust out were it fits into it , does anyone know we’re I can get a proper joining rubber as I’m assuming this will cure the issue

Grib are selling kits to move the front brake arm from facing rear to facing forward on the Grimeca brake as used on the Fantic 200. Has anyone done this? If they use the same brake cam, and the arm is the same length, what is the advantage of rotating the cam anti clockwise instead of clockwise? Regards, Peter.

I want to register my 241 but it looks like the clutch cable has worn some of the numbers away on the headstock. Either that or someone has attempted to conceal the identity which I don't really want to think about. Of the 8 characters it is position 2-4 that are mostly illegible so does anyone know if there is a list of model specific frame number ranges? I also have Lambrettas (don't laugh) and on those the first characters denote the model and year so I am hoping the same sort of Italian logic with the Fantic.

Hi all, First time poster here, wondering if anyone can help with identification of my bike. I've recently dug it out of a barn having not ridden it for a good 14 years. Back when I rode it regularly it was a bit abused (as 14 year olds do...) but now i'm quite keen to give it the TLC it requires! The bike has '350' stickers on the side, FM.237 on the headstock of the frame and 350 stamped on the engine. I suspect the engine is not original as there is some suspect welding on the rear engine mounts.... From my initial research, the engine is probably from a trials 200 and the frame and other components are from a 301. Any help in identifying what I have wou…

I'm looking at a 240 this weekend as my lad fancies a go at twinshocks for a change. Just wondered how difficult it is to get a registration number on it. Not sure at the minute when it was imported, but I think its fairly recent. Is it the nightmare that some people make it out to be? There's no desperate rush as he's 15, so it'll be a few years until he can do any road trials on it.
