Hi Guys and Girls, how about some talk about your chair setups, and any Eureka moments you've had or techniques to share. Lots of solo techniques available on line and in print but I've yet to see no sidecar technique vids or found any technique advise, how about we share our positive and negative experiences on this forum. Hi, newbie here ........ I've been building and evolving a Honda 125 for a year now, not for competition but for getting quietly and carefully around various farms and landscapes. As a solo it's more than proved itself, but a small chair came along and I'm here to look for advice. The bike is a CB125S frame with an XL fromt end, a CG motor and a SL tank. Hi folks, Fancy having a go at sidecar trials and currently own a 1975 Ossa Mar 250. 2 questions if i may, does anyone know of a used chair for sale for sensible money, if not i will have a go at making one as plenty of reference photos around and i can weld (or so i tell myself) but has anyone done it to an Ossa before, can find pictures of a yellow Ossa 350 on the web but the frame looks different, it's the headstock mount that looks tricky to resolve.

silly question but a a complete novice to metal work so here goes............I am making some brackets up to fit my trials chair to a bike. what thickness of steel should I use to make the brackets? I am learning to mig weld and can just about do steel so stainless and ali are out of the question for now.

Having had a try in the chair last year I am putting an outfit together to move from solo into sidecar next year. I have managed to get a very nice rushton clair off of a club member and am planning to pair it to TYMono I have in the garage. The rear shock is shot to pieces and once the outfit was paired with two riders the bike pitched right over to the right with the inside of the mudguard on the tyre! As the replacement mono shocks for this are getting scarce I have planned to do a twinshock conversion on the TY and would appreciate advice on shocks? The main thing I assume is spring weight? Which is the best brand of bike to turn into a sidecar? are there pros and cons of each brand? What changes need to be made to the bike?

Hi guys, My friend and I are both proficient solo riders but have always fancied a go on a sidecar. We recently purchased a 280 climber with Rushton chair to have a go. We both loved it and have begun to attempt some harder sections however, we are having problems going up small steps/logs. When we 'launch' the third wheel hits the step and throws the rig to the left. What should the passenger/rider be doing as we hit the step? I assume the passenger throws there wait behind the rider? The chair has a falcon 10" shock that is virtually rigid. I plan to send this off the falcon shortly to be serviced and maybe have a softer spring, but have been told the spring should…

Hi Guy's Well My brother has decided to fit a trials sidecar to the Ariel HS frame we have. To replicate the outfit that I used to passenger. My task in the operation is to build the chair. Have looked up all the sidecar dimensions In the ACU hand book and have used them as a guide to the build using the minimum measurements ,But trying to keep it looking like a Kendall as much as possible. Have managed to find the services of an excellent passenger and a place to practice. After a few sessions we have managed to gain some control so at least we can now make it go in a straight line. Still looking for some events to compete in.

As I mentioned in my previous post I am in the process of attaching an old trials sidecar to my even older Suzuki SP400 with a view to Green Lanes and possibly a long distance trial or two such as the Ilkley Classic Trial Before I start getting carried away with the MIG welder I need to know how the side car should be set up. As it is the sidecar lines up with the sidecar axle about 9 1/2 inches ahead of the bike's rear axle when there is a slight toe in. I understand this is about right, please let me know if I’m wrong.
