Bultaco

About 30 years ago, my family used to own a mustard colored 250cc Bultaco Sherpa with a Francis Barnett engine. this was in the northeast of England. I know it was sold on when I was young, I was gutted as I didn't want mt dad to sell it. it a long shot but has anybody here ever come across a mustard colored Bultaco?

Hi could anyone help what bike this is from. On rim Me 1947 and brake arm screw has Bultaco m80.There is a akront sticker but no writing on rim.

I have 10 46 gearing is that ok ballpark for trials riding, I am a beginner. Thanks

Hello All, I'm hoping for some suggestions on how to proceed with the exhaust on my latest project... I'm presently in the midst of an early M80 Sherpa T rebuild and am striving for original appearance yet with increased performance in the effort. I had one of these years ago and, like many, replaced the triangular muffler with an "S" pipe to a modern aftermarket spark arrestor which did perform better than stock but, to my eye, didn't look nearly as good - certainly not period correct, anyway. I eventually sold her to a friend to entice him into riding vintage trials with me and have missed the bike ever since. Such a beautiful tank design - truly a classic. …

Spotted this on the web while searching google for pics. The owner did some really nice work with a list of mods that include a self made tank that is an inch or two shorter. Pretty cool bike that looks like it works really good. If you are on this site I just want to say nice job!

Gentlemen Your help would be appreciated to help me locate the various parts of this tubeless tyre inflation valve assembly. The assembly comprises the following parts: Main Stem housing valve Two rubber washers (one either side of sealing strip?) One domed metal washer (between lower rubber washer and knurled ring) One knurled metal ring (between domed washer and wheel rim) One nut (external to wheel rim) One valve cap (obvious) Ther is no spacer with this assembly and the assembly appears a little deep inside the rim.

When Guy was shown the bike to be used in the program for the record attempt, a row of dirt bikes were on display in the back ground. The one on the end was a Pursang. Do I qualify for an anorak award? Stuart

Hi I have a 250 cc Alpina frame/engine B - 8503578 I understand it was an export to the USA, but is now in the UK, I am finishing off another's part completed restoration project. It has the twin spark plugs Currently wired with regular points and single HT lead/spark plug cap. I'm looking at swapping over to CDI ignition, firstly any comments recommendations on suppliers? I'm presuming that if I do swap over, I can use a single spark plug kit, however, I see some suppliers have the kits for twin spark set ups, is this something I could run on my Alpina or would it be a lot of extra faffing for little extra benefit? Any thoughts welcome, thanks. Regards Jeremy

Hi... I'm considering replacing the original clutch plates on my Alpina with more modern "friction material" as available from a certain well known Bultaco supplier (that I may not be supposed to mention by name but I'm sure it's pretty obvious). So... Is it worth the ninety odd quid it's going to cost me? I should say, I'm in the middle of restoring the bike (1972 175 Alpina) and have not really tried the original clutch to see if there are any faults, just thought it easier to do now if it's worth it? Thanks in advance... Dave

Hello I have a part restored Alpina, the wheels are with Central Wheel Components for rebuilding and it's time to make a choice on tyres. Previous posts will confirm I am a 'newbie' to motorcycle renovation/restoration! Previous projects have been limited to classic '80s Italian bicycles! My part restored Alpina came with a chunky pair of new Maxxis Cross IT Pro tyres, they look great! Quoted as street legal on the Maxxis website. Hi, I have just bought a sherpa to re-live my youth after last owning one as a schoolboy in 1976. (funny thing age and nostalgia) Anyway it occured to me that we now only buy unleaded fuel and wondered if the different octane rating affects the engine or is an additive needed? I have read with interest the items related to fuel/oil ratio but would appreciate any advice on this subject. Cheers
