Its been a while since i've been on this forum but after several other projects i've finally dug out my '77 191 Sherpa so i can finish it ( and use it!). It was in bits when i got it,including the wheels.I've just got the hubs back from Mike Danby who's done a great job re-lining them, got spoke sets from Inmotion so i'm ready to have a go at building the wheels up.I have got the parts list which shows the spoke pattern but information on the offset is thin on the ground. What i could find online was for a 199A and was Front brake side 15mm , non-brake side 32mm and Rear brake side 40mm , non-brake side 35mm. Just checking them earlier today it seems the rear could be …

Hi all, Unfortunately, when I bought my Sherpa 199A the previous owner had chopped out the spokes from the front wheel, I think he was planning on rebuilding it. If anyone has their wheel out of the bike could they measure the offset for me from the face of the brake drum to the outside edge of the rim. Just for info, I had my rear wheel rebuilt by Sid's Wheels in Stafford, he did a great job, supplied & fitted stainless spokes for 85 quid. Regards Dave.

Hi there, I have recently bought a 199A, and whilst cosmetically it is very good, mechanically it has some issues. This is my first Bultaco, so some help would be much appreciated. There seems to be some funny goings on relating to the wheels. They seem to both be offset in the forks/swingarm. Is this normal or something more sinister afoot? The rear wheel rubs the swing arm unless adjusted out quite drastically. I am wondering if the hubs are from a larger bike etc. I am hopefully attaching some photos that will show the issue I'm having. Your advice is much appreciated, Thanks

Hi I have been searching the North West for a while for a Pursang and only see ones what have been restored.I was hoping should not take long was i so wrong. You can pick up Sherpas but not Motocross.Seen them for sale in Europe on line cheaper than hear some of them. Can not even find a Pursang engine to buy unless ship from states.Dont surppose any sellers left what sell Pursang bikes or engines in the North.Just had surgery on both eyes so can not run about.Checked HH classic they have none did bid on a Pursang a mark 12 ages ago they said bid 50 quid as in bits i thought staff after it so bid 900 should have bid 1500 .Checked some other sites but need to be well off to …

Been raiding the photo albums, and thought this may be appreciated!! The young Italjetfan is about 6 months old. I actually tried to recreate the shot on a different Bulty when my daughter was the right age. only to find my Mum had thrown Dad's trials overalls away about a month earlier!!! Shame... Did the Bulty survive? All the best,

My Bultaco Sherpa 250cc Model 124 has the original fitment Amal 627 carb which is quite worn. The bike still continues to run ok with it, but I must assume that a better carb would improve things somewhat. The question is though what replacement carb would be most suitable, Amal Concentric Mk1 as now Amal Mk11 as used on the later Sherpa's which I think are stub fitting only Mikuni VM26 I think there is an OKO flat slide available Is there anything else that I am unaware of that may be better than the above, what have you tried and how did it work?
