I have a 1974 Ossa MAR. If it sits for any period then the kick start lever will not kick freely to clear the clutch. I let it sit for days with the clutch lever clamped to disengage the clamp. It still doesn't kick free so I read on this board some time back that one way of dealing with this problem is to put the front wheel up against the wall and then start the bike. I did this and even though the clutch was not free, when I started the bike it ran as if the clutch was disengaged. What am I missing here? I need to take it somewhere to ride it and do any shifting so I haven't (I'm 73 yrs old so lots of trial and error is hard work). With it up against the wall with…

Hello everyone It's been a while since I've posted and in fact I've relapsed!!! I bought back an Ossa , I was in love with it!! and from late 2012 so a 2013 even though it has the ECU marked still with 11 final. I'm writing because I have a problem, when the bike is nice and warm it shuts off on me, like it's running out of gas, it revs up as I ask and then drops goes up and then drops all the time. I don't know what to look at. Unfortunately I had sold everything kscan harnesses etc.... I can't tell if it stops getting spark or stops getting gasoline for a few moments. 5. Both me and my mate have an ossa mar. Yesterday we had them side by side and we noticed that my bike has the brake on the left, and his is on the right? Which is correct? When googling images of ossa's we have found both?

Some time ago I had to replace the wheel bearings of my KTM 990. In order to protect the bearing a Nilos-ring is used on the chain side of the wheel of the KTM. That triggered me to investigate the option to do a similar thing for the front wheel bearings of the Ossa TRi. Yesterday I installed a new set of bearings (SKF) and two Nilos-rings (SKF 61905 AV). Fits perfectly and should give additional bearing life. Wil report back in a year or so ( ) Copied from the SKF site: "Designed to keep dirt, dust, debris and other abrasive contaminants out of ball and roller bearings, all-metal NILOS-Rings help extend bearing uptime in the harshest operating environments and i…

Has anyone replaced the fuel filter? (Modern OSSA) I'm getting a 'fuel pump over current' which on every other bike I've ever had means a partially plugged fuel filter. I believe it is more time consuming than popping out the gearbox. Bike still runs great- I wouldn't have known but I put the software on to check things out. (Around 270 hours) Mark

Before we start I am not posting this for any other reason than to understand how the fuel injection works, its not criticism and its not praise, I'm just interested. In the starting issues thread it was mentioned that the Ossa like a lot of two strokes needs to be revved from time to time to clear it out and this got me thinking. In a carb fuelled two stroke we have an inlet port and transfer ports. My limited understanding is that as the piston travels up this creates a vaccuum which sucks fuel mix into the cylinder below teh piston. When the piston returns this mix is forced out via the transfer ports and ends up on top of the piston. The problem with this is that so…

As above. Has any body removed or knows how this sensor is attached. I think mine is very lightly weeping and don't want to damage anything to sort this out. Thank you.

I have a faulty fuel pump on my ossa and need to remove and install new part. I believe this means taking the engine out, is it at all possible to change pump without taking engine out? Also I read somewhere that a special tool is required to remove the pump, if so where are these available from? Does anyone know if the ossa fuel pumps are used in any other make bikes

Can anyone give me some sort of idea what kind of run time / mileage I can expect while trail riding on a TR280i? I've seen a few people mention running out of fuel and I'm a bit paranoid re-fueling at every opportunity but am thinking of doing a longer ride we normally do on the Enduro bikes and worried about the fuel situation.

Now my TR 280i is up to full running order I’ve been using it. I’m getting 75 mins to a tank. Does this sound right? Seems a thirsty beast to me but my last bike was a frugal rev3 200.

Well after a series of c0ck ups with powder coating colours and out of production factory decal kits it seems the facelift on my bike is very nearly complete. Here are a few pics of the FUTURE kit ... available from H&D Racing ... a bit different to the usual green but I'm loving it. The pics on the site don't do it justice and I was swithering before going for it so hopefully this will help someone else make a decision. Quality is great as is fit and cheap enough too

It seems 2014 is the year of Ossa! Future Trial Team have announced a switch from Montesa to Ossa. This follows Top Trial Team switching from Beta to Ossa.

Anyone out there coming from a GasGas (or Beta for that matter) curious what differences are noticeable. Stability, grip, turning, power, typically reliability issues. These bikes remind me most of a GasGas. I'm wondering if they have the same light feel and neutral ergonomics, is the head angle overly steep (tendency to tuck) Read a lot on here where they grip well, one rider said pegs felt high compared to other bikes. Let's hear it!

  17. I found a barn fresh MAR with mostly original equipment and under 1250k fresh motor. It's worthy of a full restoration but I was looking for a cheap rider so I am bagging/boxing all the nice original bits and going to ride a season or two before doing the restoration. It's got spark, compression and carb is clean. It had no brakes or fuel tank so I hasn't been started. Rare find in these parts by barnstormerbikes, on Flickr Rare find in these parts by barnstormerbikes, on Flickr The bike had been stored with ethanol fuel and the tank was mush. I am using Caswell epoxy liner/ shell to remediate but not sure if it will work, assuming it will. I have already r…

Hi all !! My 350 Gripper (that I got about a year ago but havent done much with) has a loud engine. The noise seems to be coming mainly from inside the clutch cover but its difficult to say exactly. I opend up this side and have found that the primary chain is quite sloppy. I´m not sure if I could change this my self or if it´s to difficult. Maybe a chain tensioner for In motion would be the right choice as it hasn´t got one ? The othe thing that I noticed is that inside the clutch cover casing there are some very light score marks where the weight on the end of the crank has been rubbing on the cover. I investigated this and have fond that the crank has play in it from…
