Hey Guy's, Just got myself a ossa 250 MAR after spending the last 30 years riding currenty bikes (fancied a project). However, I want to trick it up for a more modern riding style (move footrests down a fraction and tighten up the steering geometry. I'm a good rider and not bothered about class entry will be riding it in what ever trial. Has anybody done it to a MAR any pics you can share. Thanks in advance. Tim

Got a bit of a problem with my 2012 tr280i, for the last couple Of weeks after I've ridden and washed it off, I leave it to warm Up and I've notice the breather pipe from down near the gear Lever has oil coming out of it, the last time it had its oil changed Was back end of last year when it had a spring replaced in the Gearbox at my dealers. The only thing I've done different was Last week at a trial I had to lay it down a couple of times not Totally flat and from memory I laid it down on the rear brake Side. Jsp

I have a 72 OSSA MAR. I just got it and it ran pretty good. I knew I was going to slosh the gas tank but thought I could run it a bit before the slosh came in the mail, etc. In short, I ran it one weekend and the throttle was sticking pretty bad so I knew it was time. I sloshed the tank with Caswell epoxy coating and while the slosh was setting up (total bike sat was two weeks) I cleaned the carb which had lots of fiberglass goo but is now spotless. Also the plug had a thin fiberglass film baked on. Now new plug, clean carb and it won't even cough. Before it at least tried to start first kick. Do you think that goo is causing some problem with the rings or what. …

Hi Anyone know the front and rear suspension travel on the TR280i 2012, need to know it when setting sag and I cant find it in the manual.

Anyone have some numbers or even a dyno graph for the tr280i? Just curious.

I have posted before about the tanks and I think I have them connected correct and with safety wire on the tubes between tanks. I filled the tanks slowly, bounced the bike around etc. On the trail, after about 5 miles, the low gas light comes on. I figure I better head back (slowly). It did seem to run out of gas and I would lean left/right and I even blew into the top tank to try and push gas lower. I was able to keep riding and made it back. I think the top tank is the bigger of the two...shouldn't that go more than 5 miles? Some complications: I was at maybe 6000 feet and the bike didn't run great. anyone got any of these kicking about or where to get some from, I have found them somewhere but at £8.38 each I think there a bit steep, I only want the square nut if anyone no's what the technical term for them would be.

I have fitted a headlight to my OSSA MAR using the rubber straps, but it is very loose. I cannot see any way of tightening the straps. Am I missing something?

Hi all. I have looked at an Ossa 250 today. The bike is in superb condition. New ally tank, new hand controls, grips, cables. Original seat, akront rims and ally mudguards. New front and nearly new rear. Runs perfectly. Whats the value please? Many thanks

Anyone have a manual for the forks? Dad is 60kg and only has 3cm of static sag, we are looking for about 6cm and apparantly there is some pre-load spacers that we can remove. I'd feel more comfortable pulling it appart if we had a guide.

Hi there guys,not sure if this question has been asked before but has anybody fitted a 2013 seat unit to the 2012 bike,I assume the frame was identical? I see an an earlier post someone had fitted a 2013 rear guard to the 2012 seat unit, thats fine untill you want to upgrade to a 2013 or 2014 decal set as the seat unit is slightly different where the rear guard connects, and the earlier (2012) decal set has 3 extra pieces in it for that area of the seat base. So if you upgrade to the later year decal set it may not fit the seatbase even if you have fitted the later rear guard ? diga

This is probably like asking everyone about their opinion on oil, but what the heck ;-) I like my Explorer, but I have 2 concerns: 1) It might just be too complicated with my limited mechanical skills (and limited dealer support). See my post on fuel issues, engine mapping, etc. If it breaks I have to learn how to fix it and that won't be happening on the trail. 2) The official riding areas in my area are setup for dirt bikes, so a trials bike is mostly overkill. It has helped me on a few trouble spots that I can now ride on my dirt bike on, so I am very happy about that. These spots are usually scattered around the park, so not ideal. My original IRZ is working just fine and with very low miles I decided to try replace it before wearing it out further. I purchased a Taiwan made OKO kit from Mid-Atlantic trials (I am in the states) and wonder if any of you had gone this route? The tuning seems straight-forward.

Is it possible to fit an electronic ignition to a 1975 Ossa 250 MAR? If so where can I get one ? Failing that has anybody got a points ignition set in good condition that I could buy? I'm based in England . TIA

I read that guys are purchasing the 2013 clutch pack. Is this the whole clutch assembly from 2013 bikes or is it just the "2.1mm intermediate plates" from the special parts catalog? What does the clutch upgrade do? I have a 2012 explorer with 2.5 hrs on it. The clutch seems fine, but shifting is poor. Up or down, any gear, Whether its running or not. It is hard to get into gear.

Anyone had the head and cylinder off their 280? Are the o-rings for the head and the base gaskets reusable?
