Hi all, having some issues with my 250 gripper in the gearbox department. The problem is a loud cracking noise from within the crankcases and temporary loss of drive for a split second. This only happens when the motor is under load (climbing a hill) there are no problems when the bike is on the flat. Originally thought it might be the cush drive but that is all working perfectly. Any advice gladly accepted thanks Higgo.

  3. I’ve just purchased a Gripper and was wondering if they ever did a Workshop Manual for it, or are all the 350 engines the same bar the fact there’s no Cush drive on the mine. Also seem unable to source a piston at the moment, not taken the barrel off yet so not sure what size I need at present. Anybody got any out there? Thanks.

Howdy folks, long time lurker first time poster! After spending the better part of a week trying to nut out an electrical problem with my 2013 280i, I have hit a wall. I was wondering whether some kind soul might have a copy of the service manual (or more specifically the wiring diagram) they could either send me, or point me in the direction for a legit download? I have tried downloading it from http://www.ossausa.c...arts/tech-tips/ but the file is damaged, and it now appears the site is down... Most of the referenced links in other threads to the ossa canada site no longer work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok guy's, got a 250 Mar here with leaky fork seal (apparently) and bottoming out alot. On strip down the seals were immaculate with as new edges on the 'scapers' and the dust covers gripped the stanchions good. Stanchions good fit in the sliders, with clean ATF drained from them, though a minimal amount due to leakage. Just guessing here (not my bike) but looks like the oil had got past the seals and then trapped between them and the dust covers....then to the out side world. SOOoooo, would excessive compression tying down on a trailer force the oil past the seals??? or is there some other scenario which would explain how tiptop seals would leak? Any tips…

  8. I have looked at the manual, but the description and pictures aren't enough for me to really understand. Is the hose that extends from the front of the "top tank" a vent hose? From the manual, this looks to be yes. I have a hose extending out and it looks correct to me. On the bottom tank, there is a metal "nipple" (near the top) that rotates 360 degrees and when the tanks are full, does leak gas out of it. The nipple looks like it would have a hose attached to it, but there is none currently. How should this be setup? Do I just point the nipple up/front and deal with the gas that sloshes out? Or, if this is a vent, should it also have a hose? I can try…

I am in the UK and have just acquired an Ossa SDR from the US. It is 95% complete but has no lights and no wiring harness. Can anyone help me with a wiring diagram - the one that is freely available on the net is nothing like my enduro bike. Did the SDR have a battery. There are 5 wires coming out of the magneto - 2 yellow ones, a red one , a blue one and a black one. They all go to a junction box. The blue and the black ones then go to the motoplat coil. Within the headstock gusset is a motoplat regulator. It is not connected to anything. It has 5 terminals; one is marked [in Spanish] gree; 2 close together are marked red and a further 2 close together are marked yello…

I'm trying to tune a Keihin carb for my Ossa 250 Gripper. I don't have any experience with these modern carbs, so it's being complicated. Can anybody give me a good starting point for its settings? If I'm not wrong, OKO jets are also valid for my Keihin. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone here on TC know the nearest paint code for the OSSA TR77 Verde please. I thought possibly RAL 6018 Yellow/green but I have not seen anything finished in that colour.

Hello everyone It's been a while since I've posted and in fact I've relapsed!!! I bought back an Ossa , I was in love with it!! and from late 2012 so a 2013 even though it has the ECU marked still with 11 final. I'm writing because I have a problem, when the bike is nice and warm it shuts off on me, like it's running out of gas, it revs up as I ask and then drops goes up and then drops all the time. I don't know what to look at. Unfortunately I had sold everything kscan harnesses etc.... I can't tell if it stops getting spark or stops getting gasoline for a few moments. I've rebuilt the motor and was surprised to see such a large counter weight / flywheel on the cush drive. My 1972 Mar 250 has no counter weight. Any one experimented with removing or reducing this extra weight? Looking at it it almost strikes me that it's a factory add on for those who wanted to tame the bike in the day? bike runs fine, just looking to put a bit of snap into it. this seems to be an obvious but need to get a little insight first. cheers

I recently bought a 2013 Ossa 280i. It's better than I ever hoped it could be. Lovely to ride, and lovely to look at. I'm not even having any trouble starting it! I'm a relative novice to trials, and my previous bike had no clickers to adjust the damping front or back. So now I have this wonderful top end suspension, but not a clue how to set it up. And as you probably know, adjusting the Ohlins shock is a little more involved than just reaching down and twisting a clicker. So some guidance on some initial settings would be much appreciated. If it helps, I weigh about 68kg.

  19. Hi. I was hoping someone could help med with a problem I have. After winter storage my 2013 Ossa TR300i keeps boiling. Fan won’t start but I’ve tested it out and the fan works with direct power. I’ve read multiple post’s on this but still can’t figure out what’s wrong. I’m no pro when it comes to MC engines so I’m having some difficulties figuring out everything. I was thinking of sending it to service, but found out that it cost almost as much as I gave for the bike so I’m hoping I can fix it myself. Thus far I’ve checked all connections and they seem fine. I’ve ordered a can of Evans waterless cooling hoping it will stop the boiling but i think I should fix …

Does anyone out there know what size flywheel puller I need to remove the flywheel on a '72 250 MAR? From what I can roughly measure, the inside diameter of the flywheel is 26mm. Not sure about the pitch.
