Having a little trouble identifying this ossa, I`ve seen some pics of other canti-lever bikes but none have the bend in the seat stay above the brake cable stop. I`ts obviously recently had some restoration work and I`m hoping to find out who did the work and hopefully trace its history. I bought it in Leeds and the seats been recovered by dlc so guess its a local bike. I`ve added some pics and with any luck someone might recognise the bike and help with leads. I guess it would have been registered for road use at some point and I`d like to to trace its reg through previous owners etc. i know its a rare bike so would think someone must have seen it about and I`d be grat…

I have studied the parts diagram and notice there is a plastic tube inside the gearbox with slotted ends that serves as a gearbox breather. In my cleaning up of this old machine, removing concrete like mud, I have yet to find where this breather vents to ambient outside air. Could someone please explain where the gearbox breather vents externally? Thanks

Planning on replacing all the bushings of the linkage suspension of my 2013 Explorer. I can only find a 2012 Explorer parts manual. Are all the bushings the same between 2012 and 2013 Explorers? Or should I use the part numbers from the 2013 TR280i parts manual. I compared the p/ns between the 2013 TR and 2012 Explorer and couple of the bushings p/ns are different. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  6. What are others seeing as a 'up to full temp' coolant temperature in the software? I never really noticed before, but I was getting some off idle 'burbling' I've never gotten (except when the TPS needs setting) and thought perhaps it was goofed up. I saw 130C - fan would come on and go off, no boiling or any other issues. I didn't measure the actual coolant temp in the radiator, but it certainly seemed normal. Does it really run that hot? (I have not found anything in the manuals that state running temp yet) Mark

  7. I first will say I appreciate the experience and knowledge here. I grew up riding when these machines were being made, but never considered them as I was a kid growing up racing MX when the Japanese bikes arrived and became dominant. Fast forward to 2016, I wanted a trials bike. Many reasons why. My good friend and riding buddy purchased a 72 MAR about a year ago that was supposedly very nice. He learned it was good but lacking in the fine details and he does not have or own junk. A few weeks ago, knowing he needed some original parts, I noticed another MAR on a Facebook group that was for sale reasonably inexpensive. He acquired it. So he had plans to build a …

I've got an Ossa MAR with a lovely alloy tank which has been little used. I bought it about 10 years ago completely disassembled (everything including the engine, gearbox, rims and spokes - everything to it's last component). I put it together very carefully and had everything either polished, powdercoated and replaced with stainless. I don't remember much of the detail, but am now trying to get it finished. The engine is installed in the frame but moving the gear lever up or down does not select a gear and does not seem to engage with anything. Two questions: Am I going to have to take it all to pieces to get at the gear selectors and Contrary to my exp…

Hi, In the final stages of rebuilding my MAR and need some advice on magneto's. It is road registered however it only has the 3 wire ignition only magneto. Previously there was just a battery for the lights mounted on a homemade side panel. I am wanting to keep it original so had to do away with the battery. I have been looking for a magneto/alternator all over for a few weeks now with no success. Can anyone help and point me in the right direction? Pic attached to share Thanks Mark

hi, we have a 1975 ossa 250 MAR . its nice and clean but we cant get it running. this is because the original amal carb is shot. needs a whole new carb. the current one is all scored and the float bowel does not join properly and you can see light between the gap. would like to get an after market one on it. just something that will make her run nicely. the ossa we have is where the carb bolts onto the cylinder and not into a rubber boot which some do.( apparantly this is rare?) it also has no choke and just a primer which pi****s fuel everywhere. please can someone point me in the right direction for a new one and where i can get it? many thanks!

Apologies, however i am new to the trials bike world. I have got a 1975 MAR 250, it was my godfathers and he passed away last year so i am rebulding it as he wanted to do. I currently have it stripped down and have sourced most parts i need (InMotion - Great service). Just a few questions, i need the crank rebuilding, is this something that can be done at home (i am an engineer and my dad is a mechanic) or is it a specialist job? If so does anyone have any recommendations of companies to do this work? Also i am still short of a few parts, these being: Cush Drive Nut Exhaust header pipe. (must be in good nick as i am aiming for i high standard finish) Rear brake pe…

Looking towards the winter, as the MAR has a bit of a false neutral thing going on: Who in the UK is the expert at engine teardown and re-build? Can deal with most of it but bit daunted by the shimming of gears etc as above. Thanks
