Hi there. I do a lot of different riding including road racing, trials and pottering around on an old 1969 Triumph Tiger100. I've always used a full race on the road, but I'm trying to work out whether a trials helmet is rated for road use. I'm very rarely over 60mph on the Triumph, but when trailing I'd be surprised if I go over 6mph. What's the view here? How do they rate these trials helmets? Are they ok for road riding? Thanks

  3. Hey everyone quick question. I am a newbie and have been riding for last couple of months in my 20 year old Alpinestar tech 2 moto cross boots. I bought these when i had a couple of months in my twenties when i owned a crosser before someone nicked it from my garage and that was it for me and bikes until now LOL. I been advised by other riders to get some trials boots and i like the look of the Forma adventure trial boot. Anyone got any opinions on them? i seen a fair amount of info on here about the Forma Boulders but not the Adventures. Thanks for any advice , Matt

  4. Hello all...new to trials...read all I can on this here and other places and I'm looking for some help. I have the Gaerne Balance Oiled...great boots...but they are a little full in the cut...added insoles and that helped a bit but the question is do other brands fit smaller (not length), slimmer? I have read some make comments that the Sidi Trial Zero boots fit more snugly in the foot around the ankle and up the leg...if you have had several brands to include these please comment. I noticed some riders seem to wear there boots fairly loosely is that something people just have to tolerate based on the manufacturers middle of the road cut or is that a common trait with rid…

Bought some of these recently. Tested them when I rode out of a section and clipped the footpeg of a parked bike with my shin. It still hurt but no real damage. Best new product for a long time, highly recommended.

Hi All, looking for some suggestions/guidance on trials trousers, a mate of mine has been riding in various forms of trousers, work jeans/overalls etc for the last 6 months while he decides whether or not he likes our hobby/sport. He does and wants to purchase some more appropriate kit, the issue he is having is with the trousers. He is not the most normal shaped of chaps, a little broad in the beam and short legs!!!!! as he puts it i am not the right shape for an all in one lycra suit!! can anyone recommend some makes and types of trouser, something good on the skin (no hideous seams or bits to chaffe!) breathable, waterproof and good value (cost being the least i…

It looks like they might become compulsory/mandatory. Who makes them, which ones are recommended? I have one with one plate for the front (or back), for mountainbiking etc and some for MX and enduro but those are to big and hard for trial. But I think a backplate might be more usefull.

Hi all i have got hold of a couple of used Osets for my kids and they are loving it ! No fear and plenty of confidence LOL. I slightly more worried. I had them at the trials club today on a training day and they did well but couple of falls on rocks bashed knees/elbows led to tears then couple of minutes later back up and off again. They fine but i now thinking do they need knee/elbow protectors? Obviously they have helmets/boots/gloves. How do knee protectors work with boots? I knew to trials myself so maybe i just over worried ? Any advice from other parents would be great i don't want them to be wrapped up in cotton wool just want to be sure i doing right by them. Man…

I have had the normal oiled boots for many years, blue, I cannot recall what technically they were called, I wear a size 45 my foot is a 10.5 (usa) and they have alway felt great. they fit my wider style foot really well. I bought a newer pair maybe 4 years ago, that was the greyish or carbon fiber looking, and came with the bootie for the inside to keep foot dry, Maybe some of you had that era of boots? that was closer to last new type before coming back to life this time around? If you saw or had them, you will recall that the shin plastic was kind of shaped like lump sticking out to angular instead of just a flat type shield of the older design. here's the p…

Hello, I have finally destroyed the sidi couriers that I was using, so time for my first 'proper' trials boots. The forma boulders look a good boot - any views on this boot, and is the sizing accurate? ..... loathe to buy boots off the internet and they don't fit. thank you Andrew

I need narrow boots (US "C" width). My Novogars are too wide; I feel like I have a loose connection between my feet and the pegs (that's also a great excuse for having a poor ride!). I've read all the boot posts and it seems like all the leather boots are great for wide feet. I haven't found any comments about the width of Alpinestar or Sidi. Thanks.

I have a pair of Gaerne Balanced oil - after approx 3 months of riding once or twice a weeks the soles are holed !! My footpegs are in decent nick. Has anyone else had this problem ? I emailed Gaernes website and got no response,What should I get next ? certainly wont be Balanced oils, which is a shame cos they are lovely.

Is Jeroni Fajardo wearing the new 2016 nonstop !!! I say this every year, (the factory riders have had a different design for years) but it doesn't look like alpinestars will ever do a new nonstop for joe public :0( I think the current boot has been around since 2000 or there abouts, with one small change after Dougie broke his toes in a Btc round. Hope I'm wrong, as I really need a new pair very soon.
