There have been many reports of many different brands of boots wearing holes in the sides where the bike frame makes contact. Any ideas on things to Glue/sew or otherwise affix to the boot as a "wear patch" that can be periodically replaced. Instead of wearing a hole in the boot?

Dougies foot injury in the Scott and a similar injury to another rider I know got me thinking. More years ago than I care to admit I hit a boulder hidden in bracken on the Scott. Really hurt my foot, bent the gearlever and footrest. Although my foot went numb I was able to finish, no bones broken and no nails ripped off. I was wearing two pairs of thick socks and old fashioned boots which were much thicker (black) leather than the modern ones. Had I been wearing modern boots which have very thin leather i am sure my foot would have been much worse. Why are not thick leather boots available, preferably with plastic or steel protection for the front of the foot. If it …

Hi, After finally settling on buying some Gaerne Lorica trials boots online I would be interested to know what experience others have. Should I go for a size larger than normal to account for thicker socks. Obviously I won't be able to try them as there aren't any stockists local to me. I ride an old twinshock. Thanks for looking. Netley

My second pair of Gaernes have bit the dust and fancy trying a pair of Stylmartins. Just wondered if anyone could offer advice on how the Stylmartins size up? For what it's worth I wear a 45 in Gaernes. I would prefer to go and try some on but it's a fair old round trip to a dealer, so generally works out cheaper to take an educated punt and risk the postage costs of a return... Thanks in advance

Hoping someone can help me with a boot sizing question: I tried on some gaerne classic and oiled boots today. The 44's were great for width but my toes were touching the end, the 45's were way too big. I have very narrow & flat feet. Alpinestars always used to fit me quite well for enduro/mx boots so thought they may be ok but the dealer has none in stock. Are the gaerne's likely to give a little once they are bedded in? How are alpinestars for sizing, are they true to size (i've read the uk10 is a 44.5 so would be spot on and give me that little extra room. Thanks Hugh

Hi I am looking to get a good pair of trials boots that will last. I always struggle with boots as I am no "midget" and have quite large calves so getting boots that are comfy isn't easy. Does anyone have the same problem? If so brand of boots would you recommend?? Sorry to start another topic about boots!

Hi all, not sure if this ok and correct. mum looking for a pair of used boots that anyone has or willing to sell for my don, adult size 11 hes never rode trials before and not fancied to pay over £200 for a new pair just in case he doesn’t get into it, I would if he was my size, but I’d have to stuff with a bag of coal to fit me. Anything at all for a starter, thanks for whoever reply’s.

Just wondering if anyone has found if a certain boot brand is shorter in height than others. I'm only small and don't want them up under my knee cap. Cheers Simsy

Hey to all, looking at buying my first pair of trilas specific boots. It appears from my reading that the most popular boots are the Gearne but I can buy Alpinestar No-Stop through my parts dealer here at the repair shop. I'm being tight maybe but a dollar is a dollar. Are the Gearne's worth the extra $$? Thanks in advance

Hi guys, looking for some advice. Im new to riding and having a struggle with my boots. I have some Novogah boots which have a stiffening/protection strip running down the back, this ends just above my heel and during 2 hours riding yesterday I managed to chafe the skin off the backs of the ankles quite badly. Any solution? I was thinking about a piece of mudflap material or something but I would imagine I'd get some more sensible suggestions on here. Thanks in advance guys.

Hi guys I'm new to trials, and wondering about safety gear.. Boots are number 1 priority for me. Used to ride MX bike and broke my ankle in couple places. After long time thinking decided to go for trial bike- looks safer.. I checked so many reviews for trial boots, but most of them state how flexible and comfortable they are.. Almost bought SIDI trial boots, but when I checked them in store, ankle area didn't look very supportive, looked so so flexible compare to mx boots. Maybe you can give me an advice from practice what boots give a bit more support for ankle? Or are they pretty much the same and every trial boot is so flexible? Also, what disadvantage …
