  1. Moutier, Switzerland 2004 - not a good day for DL although Fuji looked fair chuffed...
  2. Self parking bike? Nice over the bars trick whilst going up hill and the minder thinking "I'll catch it, erm, maybe not..."
  3. Just reading this article and thought it a bit weird that Freixa would ride a Raga replica, sort of like Fuji riding a Dougie special? It also looks like he will be landscaping the sections for Raga in his quest for the World title!
  4. Nice one although I can't believe you were charged for bike storage!
  5. I would be quite happy to pay double the usual entry fee if it helped clubs to safeguard trials venues. We have lost practice venues such as Addingham moorside and Wycollar around here which makes me think that the actual events will be next to go! This is probably a dumb question about the 14 days (or is it 28 days) ruling: - If places like Addingham have 5 or 6 trials a year, can the venue open for practice the other 8 or 9 days?

  7. Fearless lunatics I thought the film was speeded up at some points but the 'lucky' pedestrians were walking normally so probably not, I must have said "Ooh" and "Oh oh..." and "Oh ****" and "This is definitely splat time" at least a dozen times watching it Good find...

I would swap the heedle for a needle and see if that cures it... <useless posting but I couldn't help it >
  9. I've had a few pairs of Novogars and Diadora 2's and thought the 2's were spot on until I bought a pair of Gaerne's from Highland Leisure last year, the Gaerne's are a brilliant boot and were comfy right from the off. I'm one of those lazy gits who chuck the boots in the back of the van after each trial and very rarely rinse them off never mind p*** about cleaning and polishing them up! They are still 100% waterproof I think I paid
  10. It was Bazza's suggestion that did the trick - send it onto him and I'll bet he crashes it
  11. No apron strings on me fella, I use one of those plastic poncho jobby's It really is about time I did one of the French or Spanish trials, I've been banging on about doing one for the last 3 or 4 years now! How about doing a list of trials, locations, dates, website links etc.?
  12. I'm surprised you actually know what's in that garage of yours
  13. It's got to be 'Pot Hunter' new shelf for storing all the trophies he's going to win by dropping down a route?
  14. Is anyone keen on the French?
  15. **** knows, I'm just a sasanach that can't get up either of the buggers I think the last piccy is the one at the side of the road and has two or three subs all in one run getting steeper and looser the higher up you get?
  16. Ee, I like looking at old pics of the Scottish - the weather looked a bit better then too I think I recognise Laggan and Kilmacroise (dodgy spelling?)

    Bike Recovery

Three poor sods spring to mind: 1) 2004, Monday morning after the Leanachan sections there is a long, long rough track that goes on for a good few miles. Some fella was pushing his bike back with a blown engine. Apparently, no gear oil due to a last minute oil change that resulted in the bike not being refilled! 2) 2005? Friday? No idea where we were but it's the day when you leave parc ferme and go up behind the West End hotel. Some fella pushing his bike back from the first group of sections which is a long old way from the nearest road. Can't think of his name at the moment but I think he was on a Scorpa and he'd had to push that bike back the day before! He was still smiling though. 3) 2007, Saturday afternoon parked up just after the wooden bridge and at the bottom of the greasy horrible hill was a Spaniard on a Beta with no spark. He managed to get it back to find that the factory kill switch had shorted out. The Beta mechanic opened it up and simply blew the connections, the bike fired straight up. Six days trialling for nowt!
