  1. The Beta 4t takes some beating in the mud, I can only compare it to the Rev3 as that's all I've ridden really. The 4t is so much grippier than the 2t Same rider, same tyres, same sections, same mud, same talent (lack of...)
  2. What are the general symptoms/problems with everybody's knees? My left knee feels knackered, it creaks and causes a lot of pain - wakes me up during the night, can't straighten it some days and then can't bend it other days... PS. I broke my knee cap in a car crash almost 20 years ago, could it just be that?
  3. That wasn't my point, if you're going to spend
  4. Bit harsh The way I see it - the punter ordered a bike and paid a deposit based on the price the dealer quoted at the time. The dealer based his 'sale' price on the 'buy' price the importer currently charged him plus his ?% Then the importer couldn't/wouldn't deliver the bike (euro wobblies?) Dealer got nervous, made lots of excuses why the bike wasn't available and eventually stumped up his extra money to the importer 2 months later. Punter gets a phone call "Yer bikes here but I want
  5. I also heard it on Radio 1 but thought I was hearing things, now't worse than someone pinching yer helmet

    Bl**dy Bolts!

I doubt it to be honest, reverse threads are usually only used on nuts/bolts that can spin off due to the rotation of the thing it's securing...
  7. PS. Mine is a "JVC Everio" (40gb ) and I'd like some better software too if possible
  8. "What goes up must come down." Folk spend time meticulously sealing the cover in the hope that water won't get in. However, it does get in due to the vacuum/syhponing/sucking/whatever effect but it then struggles to drain back out. Condensation can also build up... I suppose it all depends on whether you are happy to strip, dry, spray and re-seal after each trial or not - please remember that draining after the trial might not help you if you suck water in on the first section of the first lap.... If in doubt, ring John Lampkin Imports and ask them how they prepare their team bikes
  9. Wow! That was almost a 'positive' reply
  10. No problem with the camcorder but the supplied software is ****e
  11. Ooh, another can of worms Either drill a 5mm/6mm hole or cut a 1/4" 'V' out where it meets the casing...
  12. When! What about that day I passsed you and AG down a forest track to the fuel stop? You pulled up and said "**** me that thing can fair shift!"
  13. Cracking idea, cancel out any sillyness with more sillyness
  14. I seem to remember a free pint outside the Alex in 2005 too, there's a piccy of it somewhere
  15. Kill it off then, the 'search' function is ****e anyway

  18. I read about this somewhere and the trials bit is in the second show... "Stay tuned"
  19. It's http://www.raptorracing.biz/ but it doesn't seem to be working at the mo'...
  20. So what do I win? PS. You might not have needed to spend all that money on new chain and sprockets!
  21. Good tip about the rear brake, I'll try that as my lad has quite big hands but struggles with the rear brake (he wants to skid the back wheel!) I remind him to stand up by saying "Dougie never sits down"

    08 3.2 Opinions

Go for the Rev-4 or 4rt if you want reliability and build quality... Extra power? A 300cc kit is now available for the Beta from John Lampkins (I think Ben Hemmo and Phil Disney have them along with Steve Saunders)
  23. Could it be the split link catching the rear brake pedal or even snagging on the rubber slipper pad? A twisted chain tensioner will also snag the split link on it's way through... If not, slacken the chain and see if that makes any difference, also whip the brake pads out to eliminate that end of the bike.
