I dunno about waiting 20 years, it's still worth what I paid for it 5 years ago, as a used bike.................unlike a Sherco/GG/Beta Good 4RT's don't drop a penny, if you buy used 300 RR - I still reckon it'll be nearer £10k, than your £8k....................................blimey a Repsol 260 is £7k and looks like they may be discontinued now

If it's $9999 in the US, it'll be nearer £10k in the UK - that's how the $-£ thing usually works unfortunately No Repsols? Maybe existing Repsol 250 & 260's will be become iconic classics I do hope so

Indeed, still the one to have - if a 4RT is your bag I think I'm glad I have a 2007 Repsol - at least I know what it is & I have all the decent parts fitted from the off RR - underwhelmed for me & could have been so much more
  4. I had the same with S3 alloys and returned them I now have Apico alloy ones fitted & they are flat After spending £70+ on the S3 alloys, i didn't want the faff of filing them - to be fair to S3 they do state the pegs have a 15 degree tilt and Bou likes it that way
  5. Kill switch for me, worked ok for the last 30 years
  6. Dad's right to a point Cars & Motorcycles in sport or recreation are seen as maybe anti social & not 'green' for our green countryside Take trail riding - 25 years ago we got no bother at all, now the focus is on us & we're under pressure from all corners - Police park up on the fell near Horsehouses in Coverdale (Park Rash & Blue Bar country) to check trail riders who ride a legal road trail from Pateley Bridge area - true Trials land is also under pressure Cycling & Triathlon is seen as healthy & 'green' & Eco friendly Sad but true, plus it's cheap I guess
  7. Aye, even 4RT parts prices from Honda are a bargain in comparison
  8. Ah, but somebody has got to buy a 2016 bike Now all this is in the public domain, do you really think anybody would stump up & buy one ?
  9. That's about it then, in a nutshell
  10. Judging by last night's performance.................not enough It took me until lap 2, to get into my stride, more practise needed
  11. Exactly - this to me is trials, pure and simple One man and his machine, against the terrain and elements
  12. Is it me, but there seem to be a lot more GasGas bikes for sale, over the last week? Seems like a lot are 'jumping ship' or is it just my imagination...............just get the 'feeling'
  13. All a bit of a mess then.....sadly
  14. There's is only one thing wrong with your 'theory' or maybe 2 Honda didn't really design the battery less EFI with trials in mind specifically They set about designing a simplified EFI system to achieve their global emissions targets & controls - as they knew in future that carbs were over They developed it for trials as an aside - to test it in some of the most arduous conditions any motorcycle can undertake - especially slow speeds with a hot engine (think City) It works and it is reliable - end of............................... despite what you say & tell us it's not The real reason for battery less EFI is millions of small commuter bikes in 3rd world countries that needs to be bomb proof - just like the carb & cdi bikes have been since Sochiro Honda developed them in the 1950's When you have no running water or electricity in the bush, what use is a battery equipped bike when the battery fails it goes flat or is totally kaput - Bike no go Trials was just the test bed for the system - a mere bagatelle for Honda It works as it is, so we don't need know stinking batteries Ossa needs batteries because they can't use the Honda technology I'm sure the HRC engineers will be in touch to offer you a top job on their design team soon Where do you dream up this stuff - in the shed?
  15. What are you trying to say ? I certainly wouldn't put Honda in the same league as the other Spanish or Italian trials manufacturer The Barcelona factory is of strategic worldwide manufacturing importance to the Honda Corp, the trials arm is just a mere consequence of it However it does give them some cheap world titles and a reinvigorated 260 cc bike which sells all the can make at a very controlled price point - so I'm sure that they turn a buck on every sale, especially with streamlined distribution costs Dadof2 I think you need to go back to business school
  16. Why add weight with a battery? Bike's electrics & starting is fine as it is, thanks
  17. So is that the end - staff made redundant & no new bikes ? Factory shut for good? What about spares, are they the property of the receiver & will be sold off to the highest bidder at auction ? Sorry situation for sure - half the entry at uk Trials ride GasGas
  18. Indeed Perce It did make me cringe Another childhood illusion shattered along with a good few more, sadly I thought the 1970's were a carefree happy time, riding schoolboy trials & watching Rolf & Hall on TV Sadly only Trials was the wholesome bit
  19. Honda are promising a new updated model for next year Anybody got any details yet?
