Is Your Trials Bike Insured?
On a £1200 bike it would maybe be cheaper than £128 Ok if you can afford to lose a £1200 bike, but on a £3k bike for me it's a no-brainer and I would be mightily pee'd off to lose that amount, to a tea-leaf

Is Your Trials Bike Insured?
After reading about another spate of Trials bike thefts, how many people actually insure their bikes? Not talking about roadgoing insurance, but insurance against theft from home/van/trial I forgot to re-insure my 4RT for a week, earlier in April this year (Carole Nash forgot to send the reminder) and in hindsight I could have kicked myself I use Carole Nash for a specific offroad bike policy to cover against theft/fire from home, which includes theft cover whilst travelling to and from a Trial or practise ground whilst in the Van or on a trailer Costs me £128 per year for £3k's worth of cover - cheap 'piece of mind' in my book, less than a pair of Raptor footpegs So do you insure yours and if not............. why not???

2012 Beta Evo 300 And 2011 Beta Evo 290 Stolen At Messingham, Scunthorpe
Agreed Maybe not much Tong owners can do....................but it's not exactly a lovely area, is it and easily accessible by inner city low-life's wanting to nick bikes etc, just nip up out of Bradford or Leeds to 'case' some owners and their dirt bikes, note a few reg no's of vans/cars - google them and then use google mapping on their laptops to home in on their prey - easier than an easy thing nowadays :wall: They are hardly likely to travel to Reeth moors or Pateley Bridge in their 'shellsuits' to suss out some potential targets (they'd get knackered in no time on Reeth moors and their designer trainers would get wet through and manky ) Unfortunately that area puts me right off Westy - hope you're well insured mate and at least you get some compo

Hi All First Post We Pics
No one has mentioned speedo ? Although not tested at MOT time by the tester, I thought one should be fitted under construction & use regs A policeman would certainly give you a machine rectification ticket for not having one fitted, if he stopped you

2012 Beta Evo 300 And 2011 Beta Evo 290 Stolen At Messingham, Scunthorpe
Sorry to hear this :-( Timely warning about Tong, we should be vigilant & looks like a definite connection ( I've heard of Enduro bikes too) Maybe some strong words with the owners of Tong to stamp it out Never been myself & won't be going now - even for a trial ( much prefer farm & moor trials venues anyway) Hope your insurance company pays you out for both Beta's

Buying My First Bike Ty 175 Help Please
You'll learn quicker on a newer bike and for £800 spent, you'll get more for your money with a newer bike, like a TY250Mono or a Beta/Gas Gas Twinshock prices are barmy.............................for rubbish bikes Because of their nature, always go with condition on Trials bikes and condition of consumables and does the owner look as if he's capable of basic maintenance

Majesty or not?
- Observers
For me riding and observing, is a non starter It spoils the rhythm and causes as distraction Plus it's open to abuse I'd sooner pay another £5 on my entry for observers Funny some trials, do ok for Observers and some don't - queer really I think it's more down to CofC and how approachable they are, some CofC's never seem to have a problem- Bike Security
Some good advice there Luckily my yard and garages can't be seen from the road Garage is alarmed Bike locked up Travel to and from a trial, in a plain unstickered van with no rear windows & when I return, the van is backed up to the garage doors and unloaded Never leave bikes outside, any longer than necessary and I always pressure wash on rear patio, not at front of house - where it can be seen Advertising what you've got, is asking for trouble and I know it is more difficult for some people When choosing this house, the rear yard & gardens/land privacy was a big decider- Stolen: 2009 Montesa 4Rt Repsol Limited Edition

The top one, this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220980804111#ht_500wt_949 is my old bike and it's just as I sold it in 2009 Genuine bike, just needs decent front forks or the ones fitted sorting out I think the reserve will be about £3k- Bike Security
I usually take the engine out, just to be on the safe side.....................during the week between trials Wow, you lot have some serious security tackle and make me look totally under prepared- Japan Tc
