  1. been there done that! if you look at the head you can usually see a "ghost" of where the gasket sat, you can usually work out positions from that. (long live heads with 'O' rings!)

    Evo 250 levers?

Fallen off today and snapped my clutch lever, is it better to replace with a Beta part, or are aftermarket ones good quality? could someone recommend a good aftermarket lever? Cheers paul
  3. alpinestar, only cos i cant spell gernea - grenear- gearne.
  4. hi and welcome, you may well become converted to trials riding, but nothing will take away the feeling of sat on a banking at the Tandragee 100 as the lads come past flat out! hope they run this meeting in 2011.
  5. if its easy jet it would be cheaper to post it the week before! seriously, what about making a web based link showing riders in sections giving examples of section difficulty? you could make 4/5 examples of each level showing rock, mud or gradients ect.
  6. Thanks for the replys so far, I have had the cluth plates out and done the mod, it made a difference for about 10 sections, then back to the previous state. I will give ATF a go, failing that I can feel a sherco coming!
  7. like so many other posts on the subject of Beta gear selection, i am completely fed up with the Bike. if i spent

    2 Wheel Drive SWM

get on with some work Rob! mind you its an interesting idea alright. looks like it might be a bit heavy!
  9. I agree, a well set out varied trial, well done to Ian, Leigh and the rest of the lads for setting out.
  10. A good trick when building two stroke singles is to put the crank into the freezer the night before you intend to re-build the motor, and leave the crank case halfs, with the bearings in, on some heat source (i put mine on an electric radiator in the garage), if you have everthing laid out ready to go it takes a couple of minutes and "falls" together. cheers Paul
  11. Nothing to worry about, stick to the easy course, watch a few bikes through on every section, if your not sure just ask anyone, its all very friendly. The going at tong can be varied from, streams, rocky gullys, muddy climbs. Its a got a bit of everything. Hope the weather hold out! Have fun Paul
  12. looking at the CASTROL website, it looks like a slight re-brand. http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=9021708&contentId=7040552
  13. I agree with Big John, whilst there would be satisfaction in "name and shame" on here, it cannot be tolerated at club level grass root sport. These people should be reported under Regulation TSR33 Offensive Behaviour and let the ACU deal correctly.
  14. Thats more like it........with your experience it should be fine.
  15. Hi all, thanks to all the people that helped me with my recent querie regarding insurance for my EVO. I have finally got sorted with a fire & theft policy form DOODSON insurance. I contacted a guy called Jimmy who knew the bike and the issues around getting insurance for this type of bike, he couldnt have been more helpfull. on another note, all the people that said they have got TPF&T insurance i urge you to check your policy to make sure you have the correct bike details on as most of the bigger well known brokers wouldnt quote on an EVO , only on the REV 3. cheers Paul
  16. I Have tried carole nash this morning. They only have The 300 4T listed and wll not quote on anything else in the EVO range. I cant belive i am the only person to come up against this. My only worry is that one company gave me a quote based on a rev 3, if push come to shove I wouldnt be insured.
  17. Hi All, I am having a few problems getting my bike insured. Bennetts and Devitt both dont recognise the bike? and therefor cannot offer insurance. Has anyone been able to insure one of these? if so could you recommend the company. I am in the UK. Cheers Paul
  18. Has anyone tried the harder rear spring on thier EVO? Has it made much difference? I was considering getting the 20% stronger one . Cheers Paul
  19. Start the bike and check the voltage coming from the stator, if the fan is spining on a battery the problem is supplied current.
  20. What a fantastic day out. The whole trial is a credit to the organising club, Yeadon & Guiseley, Thank you to all concerned.
  21. Based on recent performance, I am usually unconscious until after I arrive at hospital, then its the steady bleep, bleep, bleep of the moniters
  22. here is a link to the online MOT testers manual. http://www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_110.htm
  23. Pete, I noticed the same at a recent two day pre-65 and twin shock i rode at. I spoke to a couple of the guys there both riding twinshocks, both mid forties, both said the same, they are riding the bikes they grew up on, not something thier dads owned. not sure i hold with the theory, but a compelling argument all the same.
  24. if they start saving now , they might be able to afford the rest of the bike next year!
