    Flappits

the problem is when they shut the quarry, all the pit bikes and mx bikes are going somewhere, and if its a legal venue at the moment that gets used twice a year for events, its lost. what needed to happen was to keep it open and make it safe /legal to ride.

give some indication of your budget, this will enable people to best judge the bike thats best for you. paul

    Irc Rear Tyre

i am sure there has been a post on using IRC rears on a tube type rim (yam ty175) but i cant find it. has anyone used one like this? does it work ok? Paul.
  7. i have checked the reg on the autotrader site and it come up with this Vehicle Registration Mark DF54MWO Make VAUXHALL Model VIVARO 2900 CDTI LWB Transmission & fuel type MANUAL DIESEL Body TypePANEL VAN Colour SILVER however, the van the thief is using might just be a stolen vehicle. the identity being cloned. there may be another vehicle with the same reg going around quite legitimatly. so dont just clobber the driver, it might not be the thief !!!
  8. what about being able to down load the handbook? you could stipulate download on the licence application.
  9. there are still frame builders out there, mostly specialising in a particular field, but surely the question would be, whats wrong with your frame now? in the 1970s and early 1980s it was widely accepted in road racing circles that to do well you had to junk the frame. there were literally dozens of frame manufactures making frames for the yamaha TZ and suzuki RG ranges. these were seen to be a vast improvement in handling and build quality. the same went for trials bikes but not on the same scale. Majesty, beamish, ect. if i was to get a frame built for my beta i would hazard a guess at about
  10. just be careful when choosing your insurer, when the question is asked of you "whats it worth" this is to do with calculating the premium not agreeing a value for the bike. most uk insurers offer market value (i.e. what are others selling for) as the settlement for a total loss/ unrecovered theft. on a bike like this i would search out a reputable broker in the area and try for an agreed value policy. this saves a lot of heart ache if the worst happens.
  11. it's funny though....................post a question about being unable to remove the giggle pin from the spraffle shaft and you three of four reply

  13. slightly off topic i know but................................. i one saw a lad in a ford capri towing his brother on a ducati pantah 500 trying to start it. as the bike rider let the clutch out it locked up, went sideways and he fell off!..................was his brother in the car looking?......................no. the result was a lovely bike being dragged 30 meters on its side. now the funny bit. the bike rider was so angry he took off his helmet and threw it in the air, it bounced of the top of a garden wall and through some old boys greenhouse, who came out and demanded money.
  14. I always register my bikes now after loosing a nearly new honda cr 250 in the early 90's. it took me years to get back into a position of being able to buy a good bike again. yes , its a hassel to do, but the benifits are well worth it, for one its a damn site easier to insure, and all the frame and engine numbers are traceable by the police if the worst happens. paul.
  15. i hate to give a bad review, but my formas were'nt very good either, fell apart quite quickly. i would recommend spending a little bit more to get twice the use. regards paul.
  16. you mean ride it like a TRIALS world champion, i mean , there no point riding it like a DARTS world champion, that would be stupid.
  17. I will go for, best bet water pump impeller shaft............. worst case scenario, hideous porous corroded cases. best to check by removing the whole clutch casing. good luck.
  18. sorry, should have mentioned its a twin shock. paul
  19. hi all. a friend of mine has a honda xr200 rolling chassis that he wants to convert to a trials spec. has anyone done one that can offer any practical advice? any info at all will be appreciated. he has a single fiberglass seat/tank unit from a tlr250 already, other than that its a blank canvas. thanks, paul.
  20. hi chris and welcome, i did the same as you a few years ago, bought a trials bike to improve my enduro riding, the only problem was i enjoyed the trials so much i didnt go back!
  21. I have used ones like these a few years ago on road race bikes. if they can flow enough fuel for a yzf750 at the TT they will be ok for a trials bike. however, they must be kept clean or can give problems with seating and sealing.
  22. forums at there best, thanks all.
  23. long shot.............remove the flywheel ,check the woodruff key and make sure the timing has'nt slipped.
