Has anyone ever seen or owned a 1998 C@sta ? And is it just a '97 section with reduced plastic covers ... I'm going to go look at a (the owner says) 1998 Fantic 250 ... Thats about all he could tell me about the bike ... I just figure if I'm gonna get a modern bike , I need the newest Fantic I can find ! Glenn

You fine folks have kept the SSDT running thru all the B.S. of the last hundred years (depressions , world wars , extreme greenies , etc. etc.) Would it be possible to place a motion detecting camera or 2 in the areas of concern ? How much work was need to get the pivot bolt to work , with the motor mount and new arm ?

In our club , MTR (ITSA sanctioned and insured ) Modern or twinshock pick a class and ride it ... We all ride the same Lines , be it novice , intermediate or expert ... The score keepers separate the novice twinshock from the modern novice etc. etc. And I want to see the drilled spokes too ... post a photo of that please ? Glenn

Set your preload so the bike drops the same front and rear with your weight centered on the bike ... So your weight doesn't change the bike geometry . You will most likely need help to measure your suspension drop . Start with equal and then play with it to your liking... glenn

Look around your local area , there are a few trials clubs close to you , Contact www.socaltrials.com comes to mind . And if my memory still works , I think the oldest your 300 can be is a late 83 or a 84 model . Fantics are great bikes and learning trials will make you a all around better rider . ​ I conquered competition hill at glamis on a TL125 honda way back in the early 70's ... But I only weighed about a 100 lbs back then ! And I do remember how hot that bike got on a cool thanksgiving weekend . Long before glamis turned into the carnival it became in later years ... Good luck with the bike , all the parts are out there and available , you just have to hunt for them !!! Glenn

Gotta 2nd that , my dellorto wasn't bad , bike ran good , but Chris's carb transformed it , and more than one person that has ridden it comes away with a big smile... (and a few of them had and or rode for Fantic when they were new .!.!.)And unless it's freezing out (literally) mine always starts first or 2nd kick from cold and first when warm . Do the new Rock Shocks have a "heim type joint" at the mountings like the NJB trikshocks ? I can't tell from the photo's I've seen of them . Thanks Glenn

As a side note , Chris gives a 2 year warranty on his tanks . So if you have a problem with it contact him and He will sort it out. And I believe he still makes alloy tanks too ... He even did some with really slick flush gas caps . Glenn
