sherco say so on another site launched at uk world round.
-
find the answer out on Friday when 2013 model is launched.
-
you could mention the dealer you know and give them some positive feedback. Dont know who it is by the way.
-
I hadnt realised before going to France that trials bikes are no longer permitted in the rivers.
Looking at the video suggests Italy is the same ?
-
are you trying to bleed front or rear ?
front is easy, turn the bars to full left lock so M cyl is as high as possible
back off adjuster screw on the lever so there is lots of free play and zip tie the hose so that there is no part of the hose higher than the connection with the master cylinder.
then push the pistons back in the caliper forcing fluid and any air back up the pipe to the master cylinder, don not touch the bleed nipple. Air rises in fluid once you get it moving so any air will end up in the Master cylinder and bubble out of the top.
pump the lever a few times and that should be it.
If that doesnt work usually there is a seal gone somwhere or a leak in the hose or joint.
to do the rear brake principles are the same but its harder to get the flow right, on a beta rev 3 you can remove the system without taking it apart and bleed it on your bench.
-
beta riding position is more suited to taller riders as bars seem higher in relation to footrests
-
good point this is whg stop permitted trials should be banned from a health and safety point of view. Just kidding....
-
is there no porn in texas ?

Access to the forest has now been approved by the forest manager, I'll post some photos up when I get them downloaded from my phone.
The trial will now definately be two laps 20 sections each day, next things to sort are the observers and making more course flags for the extended route.
Its looking good but some more entries would be nice....
-
or for a more concise answer.........
NO.

slightly more oil, really we are talking about and extra 10ml or so per tank of petrol here, will reduce friction and risk of seizure or premature wear of conrod bearings. Mains on a lot of modern bikes are now sealed so its only really the cylinder and con rod bearings that are lubed by pre mix.
A clogged up exhaust is cheaper to fix or replace on my sherco than a conrod or cylinder re plate and piston. However on other brands the middle box is easier to replace but about the same cost. I'm sticking with 80ml to five litre as my current and previous shercos dont suffer from a clogged exhaust or excessive smoke so its not doing any harm as far as i can tell.

We are taking a tent and couldnt find a local campsite on the net so will see you there.
do we need to bring fuel is there a petrol station somewhere near ?
-
why are spectators important at an event like this ?
its a local club event, everybody who has entered has paid to do so, voulnteers have taken time to set the course out, agree access with the landowner, put up signs informing people that motorsport is dangerous etc, the ACU as telecat has said arrange insurance cover.
and then a spectator turns up who has paid nothing to be there, hasnt offered to help to observe and i doubt set out the course judging from your comments. What did you bring to the party ?
If the club have said stick exactly to the flags and dont ride anywhere else then fair enough but did they ?
-
The classification can be either ability of the rider or the machine they ride.
In my local centres people will often ride the middle or easy course on a twin shock, or air cooled mono or even a liquid cooled bike. The three classes are not specific to the bike you ride but to the severity of section you want to ride.
There are some specific events for older bikes of any age and we do have a national series for pre 65 / twin shock / air cooled mono.
nothing stopping anyone riding in my centre on a liquid cooled bike from any era in any class they want, so I dont see there is really an issue here.
-
john you mean 28th june ???
-
your trying to tell me on you bulto you have never droped the bike and bent the shock, in my schoolboy days my dad used to just order a set of girlings every week ! I like the ease of access to the shock but it most be more prone to crash damage ?
-
age isnt everything people mature at different rates. Ferrer broke a leg last year and i have been impressed with how quick he has returned. cabestany can win in his 30s how old are Ferrer and Challoner ?
-
I think people used to convert them to left side brake / right side gear change which allows a rod rather than a cable.
-
Both are good bikes, the gas gas is lighter and more sensitive to rider inputs whereas the Beta is a bit more stable in my view but i always find Betas difficult to find traction with. Others manage no problem to make them grip so its probably just down to a slightly different technique or stance.
-
i can see Bou getting to ten titles at this rate
I think the rest of the current top five are all older and theres probably only Ferrer improving quickly enough to have a chance in the next 3 years, thats if he can keep improving, perhaps Casales has potential on todays showing but Ferrer is very consistent.
-
yes i agree just my attempt at humour dabster :-)
-
I can remember reading of Martins accident Tim, I think his clothing got caught in a tree and with the bike still going forwards it pulled him off the edge of the track and down a drop from memory (we are talking about 30 years ago here folks).
I think the difference is now we have a minder fastened to a tree or something, by a rope, trying to catch a bike as it sails past. Problems generally occur when the rider doesnt get within reach of the minder. Plus we have disc covers sprocket gaurds etc but as the sections are much more dangerous we are still seeing the accidents and they tend to be big and expensive, especially for the privateer at say British Champioship.
-
Dabster i did hear you used to teach maths ? 1 and 8 are not the same my friend...
I have broke teeth before, its not much fun. Trials was once described to me as motorsport for the working man. As a sport we need to go back there, rule number 1 the participants should enjoy the event and be able to work the day after

Anyone know if you can get a new kickstart or if a kickstart of another bike will fit a 1973 Beamish
this isnt my bike and i'm not sure the beamish models were out in 73 so it would be useful if someone could confirm as well, the owner bought it in a box and only has details from the seller.
thanks
