  1. We only use punch cards for British Championship rounds the rest of the time it's done on Observer boards. The sheets used vary from event to event & we always use a waterproof paper.

    4rt Throttle

I half fancied a 4rt last year but hated how the clutch worked & wasn't to keen on the fact that the thing was trying to cart me along half a yard quicker than I wanted. I also had a problem that it kept pumping my arms up in next to no time at all. Anyway I tried an 06 bike just before Christmas, it had the 315 clutch master cylinder & a different handlebar set up. I was well impressed with it although it still was trying to run away with me a bit. I bought one & on the advice of a friend made sure it had the programmeable ecu on it which is set on a softer setting. It's certainly more laid back & suits me just fine. I've also got 5 1/2 inch renthals & Hebo footrests on it. Trying to work out what to do with the footrest hangers now as the stock item seems very soft & bendable. I've bought the bike specifically to do ride 2 trials this year, ssdt & scott.

    4rt Throttle

It appears you're trying to take the 'edge' off a slightly headstrong machine by gearing it down. Had you considered that the bike is already low geared? Check out the ratios in comparison to say a Gas Gas Pro. Best bet to slow the thing down is fit a programmable ECU & have it set on a softer setting. More expensive than an outsized sprocket but does the job properly, not just a workaround.

    Loose 4rt Grips

Put the grip onto the end of the bar then slip the airline nozzle under it, give it some air & drag it on, then wire it on.
  5. Common practice, it's gone on by one team or another for years.
  6. This is what do on the odd occasion that we're short, usually find that someone who's been watching will pick up the board anyway. We've also found that spending a couple of hours ringing round know observers in the days before can get us very near to the required number. Makes for one less thing to do on Trials day itself.
  7. Don't think the regs are out yet.
  8. is that what you call all your ex women?

    Colonial

Is that before the pair of you slip back for a night of passion in the 4 poster? Bet you haven't told Subira that bit yet.
  10. I rode the easy route last year & went for 100, still finished in the top ten though. So by usual easy course routes at Nationals it's a toughy, certainly in line with easy route at the Lakes 2 day.
  11. The entry details for this Trial dropped through my letter box this morning. Without doubt it was the best one day Clubman Trial I rode in last year, it wasn't easy by any means but every section was on & there was nowt daft or intimidating. One lap of 50 sections on a fairly tight time limit & a proper set of rules, let's hope it's not foggy this year so we can see where we're off!
  12. OK I'll give you that one, we do put some good Trials on but we do have some of the best land in the country so we'd be pillocks to mess it up. Answer this though, the two clubs that regularly put most bums on seats in the Yorkshire Centre are consistently Yeadon & Guisley + Richmond, why? Is it because they both run No Stop Trials? PS Have you got the results? Was I there?
  13. One of the biggest problems in Trials regardless of rules is C of C's marking out to take marks off one man. Dissappear up yer a*** / hinged bike sections just show up C o C's ineptness better than most.
  14. Just watch a video of the SSDT with the likes of Colley gently hopping it around to stay on line whilst still on the move, you'll see what I mean.
  15. What a terrific ebtry. But are you going to tell me the likes of young Wiggy rode all day without a front wheel hop turn or a quick back hop to get in line ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's more skill doing it while on the move than there is doing it by stopping.
  16. Good turnout for a No Stopping do:- http://www.trialscentral.com/cms/files/YG%...Centre%2006.pdf
  17. But the problem is that the rules that the FIM are running make events more & more for the very few that can do it & eventually the events will become unsustainable. How many UK Trials clubs can/will stump up the cash to run a world round circus anyway? We won't & I'd say we're flusher than most. I think our club beat the SSDT in returning our #1 event the Scott to full no stop rules, it means we have event for all levels of ability, it simply didn't work on the hop & bop rules & was dying. With the exception of our British Championship events all our trials run full no stop & to be honest all the sections I've seen could be no stop in these trials anyway although this year is our first A/B round. What's the betting we can take marks off the A/B's with traditional sections? Anyway we can't be doing too much wrong as even Dicko is coming round to our views http://www.tmxnews.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx...ticleID=1336132
  18. I respect your argument but none of the kids I know have ridden non-stop so it would be a complete different change for them wouldnt it! I rode it back in the early 80's but much prefer how we do it now. ( see above ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps you need to have a little look out from your own part of the world & see what other people do.

So Andy isn't the only gay in the village then? Must be a computer geek thing.
  21. aye no bugger would understand your Geordie accent.
  22. I think it's something to do with the fact that if they speak in their normal accents no one has a clue what they are on about. So they speak in this pidgeon version of English so that they can be understood.
  23. As a tax payer I'd like an explaination as to why we are paying for you to be in Las Vegas.
