  1. I have never understood why people think a left hand kick start is a deal breaker. Same as right side, unless you are missing your left leg.
  2. Both are good bikes. Depends on if you want to hop and bop all day long, I`d pick the Gasser. If you want a good solid bike and just enjoy the sport without being the `new` top rider I`d take the Montesa. Both bikes can do anything, but the Gasser is easier to learn the tricks on.
  3. No, JML I bet he could do it with a bone stock bike. It`s all about timing.
  4. So Ryan has no answers for this?
  5. It`s similar. Call Adrian, he has Gas Gas plates. Other wise you could sand down the friction plates.
  6. Is there a reason you just don`t rebuild the old one.
  7. You have to check the throttle at all front wheel positions. Full lock left, full lock right, ect.

    slide in backwards?
  9. Another common issue on the pro is the kick start pawl. It chips easily and gets carried by the idler gear to the large primary gear. (The teeth on the clutch)It does not take much metal to cause a vibration or knock. It can be very hard to find. (magnify glass needed) It gets smashed between the teeth to the point that it looks normal to the naked eye. Good luck.
  10. You probably had the smooth Wes before, you might look at the shorty version.

  12. Well I`ve known that from the start, but the masses seem to be blinded by the bling. All the old hydraulics were much better. Pretty sad that for years now the riders in the know have swapped out the parts right away.
  13. I would go back and look at the needle. Pull it out from the slide. Is the retaining clip still holding the needle in position? Sounds like a new needle is needed before you start chasing your tail.
  14. Take the flywheel cover off and grab the rotor to feel for any up and down play.
  15. You have come a long way in a short time! Interesting project. Keep us posted.
  16. The new master cylinder is crap. We have had to rebuild several already. The fluid comes out black as night.

    Fan Bypass

I remember a guy that was riding a demo had a switch. In the excitement of the moment he forgot to turn it on. The little steam explosion was entertaining for the crowd, but not for the rider.

    Fan Bypass

The two wires from the switch go to the thermostat. It should not have been wired to a switch in the first place, just hard wired on.
  19. The biggest change was the 2010 frame that did not break in half. Have you had the frame and swing arm replaced? Then the major new frame in 2013. Those are not little changes. Get the super smooth if you like a good low score.
  20. The usa site says 114. Remember your fuel is also different. Have no idea where 90 came from.
  21. What makes you think a bicycle company would continue making trials bikes as it`s such a niche market! I`ve never heard of a Trials bicycle made by them.

    247 Fork Oil

Either it`s plugged or you need to remove the top nut. Even if it was empty, some should come out.

    Point Gap, Ty80

    Depends on your weight. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/the-compleat-yamaha-ty80-thread.574301/
  24. Myself, it is just satisfying to take a bone stock 40 year old bike and clean section after section that modern riders have to stop in. That is what vintage is to me, no price tag involved.
