  1. Ha! You are scareing the pooch!

    fuel

They sell fuel stabilizer in the shops, which may well help, otherwise best to drain not only the carb but the system!

    AVGAS

    Local small private airfield!
  4. We need to get you out and try it! We will catch you! (Right Biff?)
  5. Seems you will likely need to find a pal near that will allow you to swap over a few parts for testing or contact someone like Splatshop Chris to send you out a care package of goods for sorting. After checking earths and eliminating the kill button, coil and CDI are next easiest, then the stator. Reports on coil and CDI failures seem rare, yet still possible, stators seem the most problematic still, and for the most part one has no good way of dynamic testing any of it, add the resistance readings seem futile at best. See if you can find when the stator was done, and by whom, as possible warranty. I think they may allow 6 months.
  6. Well, there you go again Gav! This is a hot topic it seems. As a relative newcomer to trials(but not bikes) spanning only the last decade or so, I must admit I have been a bit miffed by the rules as well as the standards that are applied. I have come to mostly understand them all, and it varies a lot it seems, depending upon the clubs and such. Seems it has varied a lot over the years, and I have ridden no-stop here for a while as well for a period of time. As there seems no absolute standard other that what the WTC uses on the day, things vary a lot, not only with scoring, but markings! Tape, flags, colors, gates, splits, cards, punching, observers, then the rules of the day! If a club wants to do whatever on the day, so be it! It may vary! Keeps things interisting! Yes , some consistancy within whatever rules on the day is needed, even in no-stop where leinancy is often given. All said, my personnal opinions remains that in no-stop a slight hesitation stop for 5 is just too harsh for clubmen in the stricktest sense. Should be a 1 at best, take 2 for a related dab(or more), and if one is stalled for more than 3-5 seconds, they are done! Flowing sectiions be damned! I am indeed getting old, and sometimes I really need a momentary balance ck before attempting a big nasty decline, or a big up! If nothing but to prevent killing myself! Now what they do in WTC or BTC, I could care less. Slap points on them any way you can and try not to kill them in the process, at it seems a fine line, as few want to go there. They are rather out of the normal world of trials!
  7. I looked at the pics, basic thoughts as above. For the price range, if it seems to run fine, well, anything else can be sorted. All my bikes from those years had twisty mudguards from new!
  8. I have heard stories about Liverpool
  9. Great looking little bike there! Where did it come from? Looks like it rides as well as it looks!
  10. These are inexpensive and work! Trials gloves are best thin like a condom! HERE

    Boyesen Reeds

I think that is correct, model #665
  12. I think there is a one way ck valve on the vent line. Add of coures you want to clean the line to insure no mud or dirt blockage. If the bike were brought inside and warmed, there could be enough vapor pressure in the tank to push fuel through the pump. Thus your fuel flow.
  13. Might try it again after it cools down. If the pin on the clutch lever is set too tight, the expanding(with heat) fluid cannot return to the master cyl, thus constant pressure and slippage!
  14. Thanks to Big John, I have found this band! I always love the ladies singing, and they are just totally impressive! Don't know why never found, just not mainstream I suppose. Melodic Metal!
  15. That explains everything!
  16. I agree, I think they need to make F1 no stop!
  17. Wait till Chewy goes to re-engineer the gasser because he can't start it, change gears or stop it rattling like a box of rocks! !
  18. ATF works , yet is thin and can make the clutch a bit on/off as compared to the thicker gear oils or just basic 10-40 motor oil. Seems thicker the oil, the more likely the clutck plates sticking after sitting, never trust them or you may buy the farm!
  19. Depending upon your tester arrangement, things may not work with the capacitor in circuit. Disconnect it while setting and the points should then break the light and buzzer.
  20. Easy! Same way I get mine to get all the crap that I dump into the washing machine!
  21. I was chatting with a fellow last week that works at the Mercedes place next door to me. He said they charge roughly $350 for an oil change service. But you get new wiper blades and a courtesy car for the day! Whoopie S--t!
  22. Kinda like going from a Nag to a Race Horse! We shall see what responses you get. I don't own an '11 but I may be in line for a '12. Still on the '07, but have tracked these things fo a while. The Scorpa SY is a sturdy mount, and gentile to ride. A Sherco 2.9 tends to be more aggressive. The VHST carb on the 2.9 can be a pain it seems, but the motors are solid, they are easier to work on than a Scorps and that helps. I still think the 250 is easier to ride for the average fellow. Doubt you will find the rear suspension as plush as the Scorps, but getting back to my old addage, you just gotts ride what you brung! It is a fine bike and well above the ability of most riders.
  23. Took out his knee! Well, I told her to be prepared to load the truck! How bad is the knee, I need to kick you while you are down!
  24. Even most experienced scorekeepers seem to fear being too harsh with the hesitation stop for 5! This debate shall rule forever it seems, then one adds "toutching a marker" to the scene! WOW, this could get really good! Let the Hitler judges out of the box! WTF? I already cannot wipe the sweat off if I am stopped! Who the hell thinks up all this crap? None of it in the true spirit of riding for anyone I know!
