  1. More than one GG pro has sucked it's base gasket in. On a dry dusty day you'll see oil/fuel stains at barrel base, on a wet muddy one, you won't. Cured with thicker gasket - and bike runs smoother too.. Pinking, if engine has tight squish - high compression - carbon build up can be enough for pinking. A decoke can cure.
  2. Posting for a mate: 2010 250 Raga gold stolen from van parked on drive. Sunday 9th night. Woodingdean, Brighton area. road reg, frame number available. Contact John Penfold 01273 675554

Lower gearing - depends on terrain & rider preference. I use the 10T on my 300 usually, but was minded to try a 9T for the recent East Yorks 2 Day. Really helped in the rocky streams, slowing the action & giving me more time. No real hindrance elsewhere, except on the road....after all there's 3 more gears to go. Will stick with the 9T for now & see if it spoils the bike for the southern mud trials I normally ride.
  4. Nice to see a few of my pics here...... Here's another rather modern twinshock:
  5. As I could only manage a Reeth 2 Day, I took a few snaps on my rest day... Here

Plyers are too sofisticated, I use a hammer
  7. I'm not sure it would make any difference. Locally clubs here give discount on entry fees to members......if you ride a lot it's cheaper to join. If it's your local club you'll join anyway. Bigger events, groups, centre, national etc charge more anyway. Of course a few of us here are AMCA clubs running quite happily with no licence required at all.......now there's an idea.

Pretty sure original GG spokes have different thread from aftermarket spokes/nipples.... GG UK sell stainless spoke sets at a reasonable price.
  11. Yes.....and plate of "correct material" with supplier's post code!!

Consider..... Water pump pliers instead of big spanner - multi use. Carry - cable ties, throttle top/wheel, ajp plunger/pin, throttle cable. Gear lever if GG Pro. Camelback Mule is good - straps to the body well, you almost don't notice it, and it's a good size.
  14. On really grippy going (remember that?) a lower first gear slows it all down a bit. Gives rider more time..... Also on a GG Pro it brings 4th into play on the hills & snotty going. Like a lot of trials guff - it's just a rider preference, not necessarily right or wrong.
  15. And another plug - Brisk. Using it in the Pampera, seems good. Tried it in the Pro and got occaisional misfire! So has the Pamp a perkier ignition?

  17. SE - second Sunday is always the group trials day. Group trials are area championships. EK = East Kent Group, NK = n.kent etc. Also on that day - Star Group, TVTC & South Coast (AMCA) will have trials.
  18. SE trials page + local AMCA clubs: here

Use velcro to attach the quickstrap fittings. Can then be used on other helmets. Only thing against QS is USD goggs look odd...

Paint does it for me! 2/4 - S3 make clamp on grips....
  21. I use this technique on my 300 & it works. Years of big single fourstrokes ownership give you this : find compression then ease through compression (just), return kickstart to top of movement, then kick. Much less knee strain...
  22. Nope, riding the Fred Rist on the Pampera

  24. Yes, change that 125 rule. There's a pool of cheap TY175s and quite a few 200s that could be used. Say - 125s for centre championships etc & 175/200s for club trials starters. It's essential to make the sport cheap for new youth riders ( or rather their Dads!).
