New Swm Owner
There's a thin washer at the bottom of the damper rod which can become bent, this allows the oil past to quickly and causes topping out. Easy to fix, you will need a rod to go down the centre of the forks with a tappered end to stop the internals rotating as you turn the allan bolt at the bottom of the forks to allow dismantling.

Eating Plugs
Hi Pat Having this problem with an Amal carb, bike starts easily, runs well, plenty of power - but I can feel the plug going off, then a slight misfire, then stops. New plug, good as new. Ross

'bigwig' I thank you for taking the time to answer, but your answer does confict with others above, hence my hesitation.

Observers
Every observer has to put up with a bit of hassle at one time or another. Why not go back to the score card with instant exclusion for asking what you dropped ! Seems a bit draconian I know, but I have personally seen virtually all the top (pre65) riders getting off with marks / 5's purely because it would be to much of a hassle / spoil the observers day to give the correct mark. I don't really expect any response to this by the way.

Eating Plugs
Thanks again for your input all - jon v8 - I've literally just put on a new coil and havn't been out since, I will see what happens. OTF - only plugs I could get were resistor, will keep using them with the new coil to try and rule the coil / ht out. Stork955 - you may well be right as it runs fine at the the bottom of the rev range. I'le keep you posted, may be some time as winter has returned ! Ross
