can anyone tell me what the correct colour is to spray a 250 frame with 198a prefix and alloy bash bash plate and big air box sidepanels?silver wih red or blue tank or white with blue tank? cheers john

Just started to spray the frame on my bultaco 199a, but not to sure on how to go about it! its already been sprayed in GOOD quality primer and ive rubbed it down with fine wet + dry! ive got the paint (holts spray cans in the correct colour) im planning on starting this when it gets hotter so to get a good gloss finsh to it BUT! do i spray a coat on let it dry then rub it down slightly then keep going like this? then finish weve a final top coat? how many coats should i apply? Hi guys, I've just fitted a Gremica 125mm front hub to a Bantam to try to improve the braking power over the previously fitted Montesa 110mm hub. The hub had very little wear, max dia was measured at 125.5mm and surface was free of any damage, I used a new NOS brake plate and cam assembly with oversized shoes arched to to fit the hub. The lining material was recommended by Villiers Services to be the best for trials. I also opened the brake plate spindle hole 0.020" to allow the plate to centralise with the brake on before tightening the spindle. How long the front fork springs will last? I don't know the correct English word but I mean that how many years they work well before getting worn out, slack? What do you think about the front forks with fork top nuts inc. pressure relief valves? Are they much better than standard front forks?

Am looking at purchasing the Pirelli MT43 tire for my vintage Ossa. Was wondering what would be a suitable match for the front. Also, may sound stupid, but how important is the front tire, as far as performance and $ are concerned? You can spend $25.00 - $100.00, for a front tire. Just curious what you folks think.

Tyre discussions appear never ending but that is probably due to the continued variation in costs. My TLR 200 has I think the original dual purpose block pattern (can't remember that make and it's raining too heavy to check) The old tyre is hard and cracked so I guess it's time to replace it. I have Michelins on my Cota 247 and it does ride nicely but when I inherited the TLR I never envisaged it would be as competent as it is and so I went for a VeeRubber tubeless on the rear - what a bugger to fit that was - but it has given me no problems and good wear running around 7 psi. Hi All, We finally got our Ossa TR 350 out on the rough stuff at the excellent Eboracum 2 day Charity trial, My son Scott rode it on the Saturday only and for just two laps but we had a great time and the bike performed quite well and got lots of positive comments from the other riders / owners. One problem pointed out to me was the bike was running 'Rich', at the risk of proving how un mechanical i am can anyone tell me how to adjust this, also I am mixing Oil to Petrol at 75cc to 5lts is this correct. Wonder if any of you have any helpful suggestions? The rebuild on the old 349 Cota is progressing slowly, too slowly to br honest as i would never have guessed parts would be so hard to come by when i started. Still we live and learn. Time came on Sunday to see if the rebuilt engine would start. You know the routine. Fit tank, fit all new pipes, fill with fuel, get ready to kick the thing into life (hopefully),turn petrol on, press choke. Notice strong smell of fuel, get wet foot, panic!!!!! In responce to the "fuel tank" repair thread, does anybody know of a company in the UK that can repair the lower side panels (Armstrong 320) on my Tank-and-seat unit as they have been worn away and now splitting apart, and respray/paint the whole thing back to it's original colour ? I have been offered this nice looking garelli for a good price. The bike is 700kms from me, in italy. Trouble is, the kikstart doesnt work. i may need the gear, or shaft or how knows whatelse. Any sorces on spares out there? Thanks

I have been offered a 323 Garelli twinshock with a HIRO motor. I know these bikes are few and far between and I know also that HIRO parts are scarce. Any feedback on that? Is the kickstart shaft really designed to break after 376 starts? Are spares available? The bike is complete and has not had a hard life but it is also quite expensive at 1600

I just won the E Bay auction for a former Donato Miglio works Garelli Trial 320. I am very excited to get my hands on this rare and interesting bike. I wonder if there's anyone out there who knows anything about them or has one? I searched the web and found a guy in CZ who is looking for kickstarter parts. I am certain the kicker mechanism is a weakness of this machine. I will be trying to resolve this problem enough to at least ride the old girl a little bit. Heres a picture of the beast. I am just about to put back together the bottom end on my Montesa Cota 247cc, Should I put the gaskets on, 1) dry 2) Small amount of gasket solution 3) lightly greased, I have read different ideas on this subject Thanks John H
