Been looking on the www trying to find some info / photos of Fox rear shocks to fit my bultaco, think they use to make shocks for trials bikes ? If you know of any links that could help then please post them below Any info / or photos so i know what to look for or were to look would be a really big help and i would be very great full for your time. Have been riding mountain bikes for the last 25 years and as soon as Fox started making mountain bike shocks they were so much better than the rest of the stuff on the market they cost a bit more, you got so much more performance for your money. So i was thinking it would be nice to try and find a pair for my bultaco sh…

Can anyone help? I have a problem with my recently finished Armstrong. It has a Mk2 Amal concentric on it, goes great for half a trial then tick over gradually increases and the engine starts to run lean, knocks & rattles etc. Any attempt to adjust the pilot screw & tick over are fruitless once this happens. It is very like what happens when you are running low on fuel ie the engine speed increases, but in this case it does not stop running. If I go to the bike now it will run sweetly until it has been going a while. If asked I would say it has an air leak but the engine has new crank seals and new base gasket. Changing the spark plug when its knocking doesn't im…

Here is a few pictures of my latest project bike that I got on Saturday. It's a BSA bantam D10 that I'm making it in to a Trials bike to use in Pre 65/twinshock competitions. Firstly I will need to source and Engine, hopefully a 175cc, 4 speed. Here is what I have done so far: The bike as I got it: Most of the un needed tin work removed: Year 2000 Sherco front end fitted: Longer rear shocks, well, one, fitted: And thats it so far, Will update the thread as and when things get done. Thanks for looking, Jamie. (I have stuck this in twinshock as the bike uses modern forks, thus it isn't a "true" pre 65 bike in some peoples eyes, don't want to start t…

I've got a white plastic petrol tank that's turned yellowish with the petrol vapour over the years. Is it possible to get rid of this yellowing to restore to its former beauty and if so how? Many thanks

Hello all, I am having a problem with my Armstrong CMT 250 (Hiro) and wonder if anyone may be able help. The bike hadnt been run for many years when I bought it so I wasnt too surprised that when I did get it going it sounded very lean on low revs and no amount of carb cleaning made any difference. Mains were a little noisy too so I stripped the motor and replaced all the bearings and seals thinking it was drawing air through crankcase seals. I also bought a 26mm OKO with a range of pilot jets to replace the worn Amal Mk2. However on rebuilding the motor the problem still exists. The bike has fair compression, although I havent measured it. It starts easily on choke and…

I notice that there are lots of mentions of mid 1980s SWMs, Fantics and Hondas but no-one seems to say much about the Cota 242. I didn't ride between 1980 and 1988 and so have little first hand knowledge of what was popular in that era and why. Can someone tell me why these bikes are not popular in Twinshock Class nowadays? Did they have any redeeming features?

Just started to build a 175 Majesty using a godden frame. The 175 motor slots straight in but the head stock is a different size to the standard 175 frame. Anybody know what bearings would fit to enable me to use the standard 175 front end? Open to any ideas on the solution, plus suggestions on exhaust systems. Thanks

Hi, I'd be grateful for a lead to a bike orientated welder to put modern type footrests on a Sherpa in Scotland. Central belt or North east Scotland would be most convenient.

SIX FROM THE SCOTTISH - DUKE VIDEO Colour footage from six old Scottish Six days trials events from 1952 up to 1969. Just got my copy and its brilliant, worth a tenner of any trialers money to see the old (in colour and really good quality) footage of all the classic sections. Just makes you realise how tough they were in them days as none of em were teenagers and none had support of any kind. Bike broke on Rannoch Moor, you fixed it or walked. Some well known faces there including Bill Wilkinson, Don Smith, Arthur Lampkin, Sammy Miller, Mick Andrews and a very young Malc Rathmell. Highly recommended for any christmas list.
