Anyone have a link to a supplier of a decent 18 inch rear rim for a Bantam to be used with a widened hub . Also if you have built the wheels what spokes do you recommend ?? Thanks

Any one here know how to identify a villiers engine type? Looks like an 8e from what i can gather Numbers stamped on the engine as follows 618A 1497. Cheers in advance

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum but have read several posts here and it sounds like some of you might have the knowledge I'm after. I am working on restoring a 1939 Sunbeam B24/25T and have been searching high and low for information on likely ratios in the Burman box. I admit to knowing next to nothing about trials machinery but the bike is in my workshop and I've committed myself to it as the next project. The bike came to me (loosely put together) with both the 350 and the 500 engine, the latter in frame. The former has had a hard life but may yet be saved. Hey, what size of sprockets should be on the primary drive of a b 40 for trials use (it's the wd gearbox)? on my bsa the chain is verry loose and the chain tensioner is fully in so i guess the chain is to long or the sprocket is to small? can you get the chains in different sizes? or can you just take a link out the chain? regards bob

Has anybody any suggestions on a kickstart for a 3/4 splined shaft villiers.have heard of gas gas kickstart cut and welded to the villiers female part,problem is finding an old ok villiers part,when they rarely come on e-bay they are soon snapped up,any help appreciated.ps does anyone like alan whitton produce an off the shelf product.cheers guys........

I'm going to need to purchase some new rear shocks soon for my Bantam, I'm leaning towards Rock Shocks but would welcome opinions, experiences etc... What say you?

I'm looking for a really good chain for the project HT5 I'm building, I'm using a 520 chain so there should be few options out there. What do you recommend?

When checking machine eligibility do scrutineers check the year of manufacture on a V5 document? There are clearly plenty of D14 engined 4 speed Bantams being ridden in Pre 65 trials, when those bikes were originally 1968 or later. So how is this trick pulled off? By putting a later engine in an earlier donor bike, who's V5 is of the appropriate year? I am not so concerned in this post about parts eligibility so much as ensuring the machine's documentation is in order.

I have the bare bones of a triumph T90 and would like to know what subframe would fit the main loop without much modding as the bathtub original isnt what im after as its far too wide . I have seen triumphs with cub and c15 type back ends ,thanks

Just aquired a BSA B40, and advised by previous owner that the bike will need a oil change. Can you lot please help with the following. 1. engine, Gearbox & Primary oil type. 2. quantity of oil required. Thanks in advance.

This is probably a really dumb question but I am new to Pre65's (Last brit bike I owned was in 1980) How do the imperial chain sizes compare to metric?, by BSA chain looks to be about 428, does that seem right?. Also I have put an NGK plug in (equivalent to a champion N3) but it seems very loose in the threads antil the last turn, any ideas?. Ta in advance.

I am considering building a bantam for pre 65 trials, what is the standpoint on eligibility of four speed bantams, I know that they were not made before 67 so how come I see them in some big pre 65 trials ?? what is the standpoint of the scottish two day, the manx two day and the the yorkshire classic club ? (these are the organisers I would most likely be entering trials with). want clarification before I start spending my few quid (I am a yorkshire man !)

What a mare i am having with my tank off my Panther.I got a decent tank last year at the Stafford show(its one of those centre mounted trail bike type jobbies off a 250 bsa). So I had to manufacture some ali mounts to sit it on the bike,A bit of bashing of the lower surface allowed it to mount lower down.So I decided once I was happy to get it blasted and then paint it.So i dropped it off at the blasters and then my dad picked it up the following week. When I saw it i was horrified.they had dented it 3 times on the top and RH side.So after much moaning they at least gave me my money back.So I decided to leave it for last season and then get the dents knocked out in the c…

Hi Guys i'm after some info on Ariel short stroke motors I've got the start of a project ie a bottom end crank cases steel flywheels later rod also a 350 head which I've been told can be modified to fit a 500 short stroke barrel there are a number of people selling these are any more preferable for this mod as I think i'll have move the head bolt hole centers ?
