Hi , anyone have a rough idea of the best gearing for a 1955 350 bullet for pre 65 trials? Is it done on final drive sprockets or can you change the engine sprocket? cheers Dave

Hi, Im just finishing a Bantam for pre65/twinshock. Ive fitted a C15 swing arm and tyre clearance is fine. The only problem seems to be the chain touching the tyre. I have a 4" IRC fitted. Has anyone else experienced this? Im thinking the simplest option is to offset the rear sprocket and engine by a bit - I can use spacers on the back mount and cut/re-weld the front. Does anyone know if others have had to do this or am I missing something?? The wheels are central and in line etc (all checked with jig). any help welcomed! thanks Stu

Several years ago I bought this Cagiva but never could get it running right. The previous owner mentioned he wouldn't mind getting it back from me. So at the recent vintage bike show I see he has this AJS so I offer to swap the bikes. He gets the Cagiva and I end up with ANOTHER project. Fortunately for both of us he agrees. This last box is fully of freshly chromed parts. Unfortunately this includes the oil tank, which I think should be black. I haven't had a chance to fully inventory the parts. Then again I barely know what it should look like when it's complete! I went out today and looked at the parts more carefully, here are some more pics: I b…

I am unable to source a folding kickstart lever for my Bantam B175 engine (large splined shaft) and would like to know if anyone has found a lever from another machine that fits. The smaller splined D14 lever is available as a folding item, but it is rather bulky and costs

I have been asked by a French chum, who is building a Trifield, if I could find out the gear box ratios, and also the sprocket sizes that people in the UK use. Also once found, who could furnish such items. Appriciate any help as he hope to ride in Scotland next year, after struggling a little on his big Terrot. Merci.

Are PAL mags worth the money when fitted to a 350AJ. What are the benefits over a std mag? Worth bothering or go straight for a PVL set up? Your thoughts please.

Most of the photos and parts manuals for my G3LS Matchless show the front wheel fitted so the brake drum is on the near/left hand side. But on a number of photos, including the works Matchless and AJS, the wheel has been reversed so the brake drum is on the right. I'm hoping someone out there can enlighen me on why the different approach?

  19. Hi Guy's, Have any of you got any photos of Paul (Heinz) Heys's Winning Triumph Cub. You know what I am like by now, I just need to see what makes this bike tick. I am not saying that Paul is not a brilliant rider ,because he must be to have won. And the bike being 230cc makes that a bit trick? has anyone information about whats in the engine, etc. Perhaps Classic Dirt Bike might test it later for us ,with Pauls permision. More importantly Congratulations on a fine win Paul. Regard's Charlie. PS I know there are two Photos that Andy took.
