Hi all, This is one of my Dad's old bikes and I was wondering if anyone could help identify it? Could it be the base for a decent Trials bike, In particular the engine? I'm not sure what to do with the bike at the moment and wondered if there was any potential? Thanks.

Looking through Ebay in the Trials area and see this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Triumph-196...=item439d3bdeaa Is this really a Trials Bike or just somebody trying to sell something? I sure can't picture trying to get that "lump of lead" around any Trials Section that I've ridden. I'm not knocking Triumphs, just can't see riding a section on something that big and heavy. Alan

What would be involved in converting a road version tiger cub ready for trials? Is it cheaper to buy a road tiger cub and convert in to trials trim - or just buy one already modified off a well known internet auction site?

Hello folks, I have just arrived on this forum, I recently bought a '63 trials cub and I am looking for advice on the best way to get the front forks set up, or should I just replace them with a set of Cerianis I have ?

I have now removed the previous topic relating to this. There are certain parts of things that, from information received from multiple sources, do not stack up. As the two parties in question are now in contact and will, hopefully, resolve the matter amicably there is nothing to be gained from continuing the debate.

I`ve just about finished rebuilding my cub, just need to sort the rear shocks and ignition system. I`ve 2 questions What length shocks will I need? Its currently fitted with a capacitor type ignition which seems to be working well, so should I replace it with an electric ignition? Which ignition is best? as there are 2 types, one which bolts straight in and one which needs posts machining onto the crank case. Thanks for any help.

I have just rebushed and resealed my Heavyweight forks, What oil is best to use for Trials use?? At the moment I have very light aviation shock strut oil,the forks top out with a loud metal noise when I lift the front wheel. thanks triton.

I use Pirelli MT43 tyres on my B40 which unlike a lot of trials tyres are ok for road use. I once tried a Michelin trials competition and after a couple of miles it heated up and the bike was un rideable. I want a tyre for my Norton but as it has a 19” wheel tyre choice is limited. Pirelli don’t do an MT43 and the only others I can find are an Ensign which isn’t really a proper trials tyre and a Mitas. The Mitas looks like a full 400x19 trials tyre but I’m unsure as to whether it will be too soft for the road. The bike will mostly be used on the road but I might do the occasional long distance trial etc. I’m not bothered about wear characteristics or trials grip but …

Hello, just in the process of gathering parts to build another Bantam trials. I have found a set of BSA C15 forks and was wondering if these are any good for tricking up with internals from say a jap bike ? if so, any suggestions for what to look out for, advice or info much appreciated. Just bought a Trifield rolling chassis , has short road shocks fitted... Anyone here know the ideal shock length eye to eye ? Thanks

Here's the problem, I have a what appears to be a feked off part-widened and lengthen swing arm and a 4x18 tyre on my rear wheel, to get the chain to run straight and clear the shock (already spaced slightly out) by a millimetre, the tyre has to be moved on to the left giving very limited clearance on that side and the wheel does not sit centrally in the swingarm. This does not seem right to me but I have nothing to compare it against. To me it seems that the swingarm is not wide enough, and maybe the sub frame is to narrow causing the shock interference. Has anyone else experienced these issue, am I just missing something?

Hello Everyone, I've just taken on a 1959 Triumph 3TA barn find, and I hope to turn it into a trials machine. My sort of riding is just having a bit of fun on the white route, so I'm not after much competitiveness, but I am interested in keeping it period, and I'm hoping to do as little (if any) permanent modifications as possible. Here's some pictures of the bike in question: Triumph 3TA My first question is the hubs, before I get the bits to lace the planned 21" WM1 and a 18" WM2, what hubs would be appropriate?
