Hi Considering some bar raisers always wondered about the best set up and to see if any benefit. in particular forward position and raise/lift. Some shops charge a fortune for a "bike fit" for push bikes and I'm thinking there must be some views on this for trials riding. I have a few trials mates who are very funny shapes ( large body no legs, large head and three fingers, really ugly and dodgy knees to name but three etc etc) so I may be able to help them a little !!! Any advice

I'm about to buy a trial and find out what this sport is about. I have read that you should start with a small cc bike not more than 250 anyway. I've been looking for a 200-250 bike but they are hard to find. Although there is plenty of 280, 290 300 and there are also some 125. So I was thinking of getting a 125 to start with. It's probably the right thing to do if my aim is to contest but it's not. It's just for fun so maybe I could start with a 280, 300 bike and take it slow. (I'm used to motorcycles) Can someone please explain why I shouldn't start with a 300 2t? Please give me some examples of when a smaller cc bike could be better. Thanks

I ordered some flags from trialendurodirect.com not that long ago....bunch of blue and red ones. Planning to mark out some hill sections in the ravine on the north side of my property. However, being fairly new to trials riding and never having done a competition, I have no idea which side the red and blue flags go on? Would rather set 'em out correctly...so can someone point me in the right direction? Red = Right, Blue = Left or vice versa? Thanks!

After many years use out of my Gaenne oiled boots, looks like it's time for a new pair. How would the Gaernes' compare to the new Hebo and Novagar boots?

My son is doing a project at school about hobbies. He want to do a bit on trials and has a 2-5 minute presentation to do. I'm looking for any information on the net regarding the history of the sport. I've got Bigjohn's wonderful history of the SSDT but not trials in general. When and where did trials start for instance? Anyone that can help with links or info would be appreciated. BTW my son is 12 years and needs this info tonight (1st of Feb) or tomorrow.

Looking for some new bikes opinion thoughts. Intermediate rider looking for a new bike. Past have only been on GG but open to other brands. Live in NC. Prefer a 250 or tamed 300. 2022 Scorpa 300 - very light use, flywheel weights. Is this the same bike essentially as the Sherco below? “Cheapest” option. 2022 Scherco ST 250 Factory - found a dealer with a leftover bike heavily discounted. $1k over the used Scorpa above. 2023 Beta Evo 250 Factory - not a fan of left kick start, never ridden one. Can get this for about $500 over the Sherco. 2023 GG TXT 250 GP - can get this for about $500 more than the Beta above. Heard since KTM take over some possib…

Hi I am fairly new to the sport of trials. After 18 months of cuts and bruises I have taken to wearing some armour , knee and elbow . It has made a huge difference and will not ride without it now. I know the pros would not be seen dead wearing armour but why do so many club riders refuse to wear any , its the club rider that takes most of the damage. I use light weight mountain bike gear , it does not get in the way , it gets a little hot in the warmer weather but its a trade I am happy to live with. What is the general feeling from the old timers of trials ?

Hi all, I've just picked up my Sherco ST 300 factory yesterday put it away without having a proper look over it, got it out this morning fired it up and let it sit for a while to warm up, I noticed after a short while that the residue off the combustion was coming out of the welds on the header, surely this should be covered under some kind of warranty? The quality of the welds are pretty shocking as seen in the included photos. Thanks in advance guys & gals!

I know there is a discussion about the best trials tire but what do you guys prefer during winter time when the ground may be frozen. IRC or Michelin? I guess Dunlop is out of question...or I think Michelin quickly loose its grip when the temperature is below 5 degrees C or so. Is it the same with IRC? Carl
