What's anyone's thoughts on not having Steve Colley or Graham Jarvis at the British Round of the World Indoor Championships at Sheffield for 2005? Teddy Blazusiak is the Wild Card Rider. Any thoughts??!!

Only got last weeks TMX today, flyer in it for the new trialsworld (?) mag, the subscription looks like a good deal, 30nicker for 12 issues and ya get a pair of Hebo Trials gloves thrown in to boot! billy-bargain! Can't wait to get it, not enough trials publications out there, hope it gets good support, and therefore stays around.

Might have been covered elsewhere but just in case. I read a piece in The Times today about standard petrol in the UK getting watered down (obviously not with water…) from September this year. What the article said was that cars over 10 years old might suffer (sorry have binned the paper so ‘suffer’ will have to do for now!!) and you’ll have to use premium petrol. I’ve always used cooking petrol in both my old (seventies) twin shocks and modern bikes. Is it OK just to switch to the higher grade petrol? Any change to twinshock premix required? Thanks for any advice!

Feel like a 5 year old on Christmas Eve so excited. First ride for 39 years. Off in morning to c if I can master the bike or will it master me, Shame it's not a pre 65 classic as it would be old like me & I was addicted to Castrol R. Any tips on the first practice. Cheers.

Anyone got any tips on how to make long muddy climbs, these seem to let me down in trials. I see other people getting up them with no bother.

Ok trials is really really hard. Had my first go (besides on the lawn). Lots of rocks and stumps. The amount of focus required on both what's happening on the bike and in front of you is insane. It's a different game from riding figure 8 on the grass vs. sharp wet rocks, off cambers and wet logs. So, much respect to all of you and I look forward to learning and riding more!

I'm thinking of changing my bike in the not too distant future and have narrowed it down to the 07 250 gasser or the 07 250 sherco. I wondered if any one had any advice. I'm 40 year old rider and not very good or likely to be any good so i just want something thats easy to ride but light and responsive any comments folks?

What is the difference between trials gloves and motocross gloves? I'd imagine they are lighter and provide better feel. My current gloves are MSR World Tour and are really nice but the seams cause big blisters and callises on my hands. What are some good trials gloves? Thanks!!

Hello, i need some advise on choosing the correct engine for a first trial bike. I have been riding MX since i was a kid and i have let say intermediate enduro skills. I was analyzing the newer models and will probably get a gasgas but cant figure out how does the different engines 250/280/300 feel like.. it looks like all of them have same stroke and the difference comes from the bore. i guess as with any other engine the bigger the piston the more power.. at first my idea was to get a 300cc, but is this stronger engine will affect the learning curve? I am 180 cm and 74 kilos and as of now i am hesitating between the 250 and 300 cc engines.. i would to improve m…

Well London have done it and won the Olympics. How about lobbying the London committee for a trial to be added to the competitions. If I understand the Olympics the organisering country can apply to have new sports added. With the UK being the home of trials and having a multiple world champion in it midst surely it would be concidered. This post ties in with the various other post looking for recognision of Mr Lampin at things like the BBC sport personality. If a UK rider were to win an Olympic medal (Doug may to out of the running by 2012) surely the sport would get the recognision it deserves. Does anyone have any contacts on the London bid committee?

One of my friends bought around a barrel (well the liner) from a 2000 Honda XR400 tonight to see what I thought. The bike has been burning a lot of oil recently and he decided to change the valve guide seals and piston rings. However, upon checking the barrel there are some very minor marks. Certianly NOT scoring, more like 'water' marks for want of a better description. I was wondering if it was worth having the barrel honed or if the new rings would possibly clean/polish out the very faint marks? Any advice welcome.
