Hi All, I received a little bonus at work and decided on a whim to take the family to the UK during the school break. We are leaving Nova Scotia on the 12th of March and catching the AMA SuperCross race in Toronto that evening then flying to the UK on the 13th. Landing in London and flying home on the 22nd. That is as much as we have figured so far. Before the family fills up the agenda with touristy stuff. I am hoping to make a bid for one day of trials related activity. I tried this last year when we flew to British Columbia but was only partially successful as was only able to squeeze in a quick visit to the GasGas importer (it was fun but I would have liked more…

My mate is after a bike and there is a number for sale saying done SSDT. He thinks they get thrashed to hell and are knackered after the event. I think differently and they should be ok. Whats the verdict on this ?

How do you tell if a rear tyre is worn out? I have a Michelin X11 on the rear, you can just make out the cuts/lines in the top of the blocks, but the blocks have a 3 to 4 mm radius on the leading edge?

Apologies for a subject that must have been covered in the past, but does anyone have a really quick and effective method. Cleaning the chain must be the least fun part of trialsing so I'd like to know the quickest way to get all the crud off and the best lubricant, please. Thanks, in advance, for any advice.

Hi all know this will open up a can of worms, at the minute I’m on a 17 Beta factory 300 and fancy something different (had Beta for a long time) thinking trrs or a 4rt, know there’s a big difference! The trrs are they a bike that’s set up and don’t have to mess about adjusting carb all the time and run spot on, I’ve been told 250 are a good bike, I’ve had 300s for years so not sure what cc ? I’m a good clubman and do nationals and road trials 4rt will the weight be a issue whilst riding and will it Be to bigger change ? Ridden a few and like them

I'm just starting out in this sport and doing alot of reading, It seems to me (correct me if i'm wrong) that alot of people are hung up on having the best bike or the best gear as though it is going to improve performance ? I'd like to bet if you put a Toni Bou or a Dougie Lampkin on an ancient machine in the cheapest gear you can get would still massacre most. Thoughts ?

Obviously no trials for the last month and maybe months to come so what is the best way to store your bike if your unable to get out and start it for long periods of time. And especially on fuel injected models that its hard to empty fuel from.

Even a mean Scot has to spend money now and again. Couldn't resist a new pair of Dunlops at a bargain price . I don't want to get carried away and fit them before the canvass shows through on the Michelins. However I was wondering if any ones tried them yet. On first inspection the tread is much more pliable and seems to be made of a softer rubber! Be interesting ,thought the old Dunlops felt like your pressures were high and the slow speed damping heavy. Being nice they made a new bike feel 10 years old. Anyway tell me they're no bad or at least grip as well as a 2 year old Michelin.

Anybody got any tips on identifying the subtleties of poor carburation. I often find that my bike gets a bit out of tune, particularly right off the bottom where the power will not come in smoothly and progeressively from idle. On wider throttle openings I can tell if it's weak and searching for fuel or four stroking and obviously rich, but on the pilot jet I struggle to identify which condition causes this delayed responsiveness. I can spend all day trying to tune this problem out on the mixture screw without ever succeeding. Other people have ridden the bike and do not seem to notice a problem but I know how smooth the thing can run, I just can't keep it in that trim fo…

Morning Chaps, In your opinion which bikes are louder, 2T or 4T ? I’ve got (nice) neighbours who don’t hugely appreciate motorcycle noise - can’t understand it myself!!! Obviously, no trials bike is going to be as loud as a crosser, but still worth considering. Cheers Boner.

I've just moved onto a Sherco with Keihin PWK carb, from a GasGas with Dellorto. I'm finding the throttle very light on the Keihin and a bit easy to wind on too far! Does anyone know if there is a stiffer spring available? Or perhaps a spring that could be coerced to fit? I've had a search but not found anything that mentions being stiffer. In reality I probably just need to get used to it, but I reckon I'll scare myself less with a throttle more suited to a heavy-handed user.

Hey guys I'm after a bit of advice. Im fairly new to trials. Been riding 4 months on one of the first scorpa SY models 250. Which is my grandads old bike that I just borrowed to get into it. Its fair to say I'm well and truly addicted. I practice 2 times a week and then trial as much as possible Saturday Sunday wherever. When I'm not on the motorbike I'm hoping around on a trials push bike so my learning curve has been pretty steep. I'm a mid table clubman rider now and improving week by week so that's a basic idea of my brief trials history! I know the old old scorpa would probably take me all the way to expert level and I do like it apart from t…
