When washing your bike is there anything you cover up? I.e electrics, air filters, exhausts? I plan on taking my bike out for the first proper run tomorrow or Sunday. I know its possibly a simple question but if you don't have experience you don't know

Tip of the Day When you change your oil to remove the remaining metal filings left on the magnetic drain plug, just tear of 6" of masking tape or insulation tape and dab that on there a few times it will remove all the stuborn metal bits. Then its clean and you can replenish with your new oil. Cheers Mike

I never liked riding with gloves on. I remember as a kid riding over the top of Penn Hill in the snow, and not feeling it. Unfortunately these days I must be in the office too much and I've turned soft. I started just carrying them so I could put them on when needed, but that's a pain in the butt most the time, and now I've got used to wearing them all the time. I've worn nothing but Hebo's for a few years, and although I find them OK, they don't seem to be anything special for the price. Hi ! After an absence of 12 years I decided to start riding again, so I am piecing together my kit once more. Does anyone have any comments on Wulfsport clothing ? (Trousers, shirt and Jackets). Compared to some trial clothing they seem value for money but I haven't seen anyone wearing any. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. RevRider

My wife is planning a family trip to London, with a side trip to Edinburgh, in April. The Edinburgh journey will be to visit friends and will only last a few days. I don't imagine I'll have too much **free** time, but was wondering if there's anything trials related in the vicinity of either of these two locations that I ought to see. I'd be happy with just walking into a m/c shop that sold trials gear to take a break from the usual sightseeing.

Had a little search and can't see a thread on the subject. When I first got the bike I did it after every ride now the novelty has worn off I haven't done it for the last 4. Where I ride isn't dusty or isn't at the moment and probably won't be even when hard packed. I use the straight liquid rather than the spray as it seems to be tackier and less wasteful. So how often do you do it if it isn't to personal. And if this questions not but the answer might be you've watched a certain western film as many times as me! If you get me!

hey guys. I'm looking to start toying with a trials bike for some free ride type stuff. I'm a big guy so nearly anything underneath me is tiny. I was advised to look at a smaller 250 and have found a good deal on a 2010 txt pro. About two years ago I had a 2012 raga 300 for a week and enjoyed it a lot. Coming from an Enduro background it was so much fun riding it over everything. I'm about to pull the trigger on this 250 when I had a call from a guy offering me his 2009 300 txt for basically the same sort of money. Is there a reason why I should not look at the 300? hi everyone i am looking into taking up the sport a complete beginner my uncle briefly taught me how to ride when i was around 11 and now 15 years later i have decided i definatley want to learn properly. I need any advice u may have for me regarding learning to ride, where to ride, what bike to get (although i do have a limited budget to begin with) and also any other advice i havnt thought of. As i said i am complete beginner with no motorbike experience at all but a keen love for trials bikes. The replys about "which boot is the best" all have positive answeres, so I want to change the question to: What problems or dislikes have you had with your boots and what improvements would you like??? Things like not being comfortable when new or walking around, buckles breaking, adjusters not holding, soles wearing out quickly, not flexible enough............you get the idea. I have just found a tear in the side wall of my rear tyre and being new to the game I wasn't sure what tyre to get. So having looked at the recent poll on tyres it seems the ICR (currently what's on) and the x 11 are by far the most popular, however, I'm interested to know why no one has picked the pirelli tyre ?? As I say, it's all fairly new to me but what is it with Pirelli ??? They make fantastic road tyres

Time for a new rear tyre. I got to see side by side the Michelin X11, IRC, and kenda Ibex and the ibex was definitely a nice gummy compound, softer than the other two. I assumed the downside of them must be the wear rate but talking with the vendor and googling it doesn't appear to be the case (weirdly the opposite in fact). There is a suggestion the ibex side wall may be slightly stiffer than a x-light but that's all. I can't really seem to find a negative thing about them. So why would I buy a £140 tyre when an ibex is half that? Looking for input from anyone with firsthand experience with them...

Hi guys My pops has a 2013 beta 300 and took his first minor tumble the otherday, hes still getting used to the vicous power of a trials bike. Anyway my dad stood back and watched the bike cartwheel out of his hands. In the multiple 360 degree process, the bike bent its clutch leaver. He says its a minor bend and he could leave it but i know my dad and his other bikes, itll drive him nuts. Can a alu leaver be tweeked straigh with a block of wood and a rubber mallet or will it crack? Any body have any tips on this? PS: I know he could just buy one but if it can be straightened, why spend the money + my mom will kick his @ss.

As the title suggests i am wondering if there is anyone out there that does anything to get rid of them? i find on the last lap the segs appear and becomes painful to hold onto the bike, any suggestions?? cheers
