Hi, bike is running quite good now and I have also replaced the left side cover gasket after several failed attempts to get a seal. It is now well sealed however there is an oil leak from the blank grommet that covers the clutch adjustment bolt in the same cover. (The one halfway up the face / just above the grease nipple) 1. Should this area even have sump oil accessing there? 2. How is this normally sealed? (I have a cap but it still leaked) Thanks Mal

http://zorki.hmc5.com/bike/TLR-nikki/20040...LR-20040516.htm have a look at the above website where a guy details the restoration and improvement of his TLR. It is in Japanese but if you use Google and languages tools you can translate each page of the website into pidgin English. There isn't really a picture of the completed project but the detail that this site goes into is well worth the visit. there are several other Jap specials detailed on the web - when I remember the locations I will post a link

the shots of my xl engined twinshock that i made over a 1 year period in the late 90's are on line at http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/smshonda185/my_photos it does not look like it now after a 6 year trials use, it has lost some of its green paint and has now got xl 125 forks and a fantic tank, which being plastic the paint just wont stick to especially after a power wash. it still runs well after a brand new carb which made all the difference as well as a rebore to +50 o/s. the compression is still a bit high for realy delicate tight turns, not like my tlr, a totaly different riding technique is needed, i was toying with the idea of selling it, but my son now 16 wan…

Ive been supplied a replacement gearbox sprocket for my 200, the std one I took off was secured by a large lock washer and two 10mm bolts that fix through the sprocket. The new one has no bolt holes in the sprocket to fix the washer with, have I been given the wrong sprocket (it fits the shaft good) or do I have to use a large circlip to hold the sproket on with ?? cheers mark

Hi all sorry to be a nuisance... but i really need a carb to airbox rubber for my Seeley..! I think that some of the TL 125 ones are the same, and some from the XL,, i would appreciate any imput on this matter and if anyone has one kicking about i have cash waiting. The rebuild is coming along now,, and the engine is well on its way to being fully overhauled, with only the new big end to press in, thank god the wheels and forks are good..!! One thing that i dont like about Seeley's is the weak frame, and this one will be strengthened from the inside at the weak points before powder coating. SeeleyJack

Started disassembly on the basket TL 250 project and everything went fine until motor disassembly. I knew I might be in for trouble when I pulled the points cover and found a rusty ign. plate. After the end of the camshaft snapped off with the ignition advance unit I knew it for sure. Still, I kept going.... removed all fasteners for the top end (there sure are an odd assortment of them), and tried knowing it wouldn't go easy, removing the head and cylinder. Other than a smal amount of movement at the base of the cylinder, the thing won't budge. I tried the usual slight prying and tapping with a rubber mallet with no luck. I really don't want to inflict any more damage, s…

Heres a pic of me old bike. Taken in 1984 or 85. It was a little out dated then as I remember doing very badly at a trial in Pott Shrigley. My Brother had just bought a brand new TLR and proceeded to dent the tank in the first trial. I notice the valve lifter is fitted but not connected and the rear shocks look knackered. I remember the frame was cracked under the head stock (and being told as a teenager that this was normal!).. Any one else got some old pics.

Hello! Just picked up a TLR200 Reflex 1987 for my son. Looking for a carb rebuild kit for this but have not been able to find one - any suggestions? Would rather not spend the money for an OKO if possible but also don't want to put a junk carb on there. Thanks

It looks like I am in need of a carb rebuild kit for the Reflex. What's the best source for a kit that includes the rubber O rings that seal against the intake as well as the bowl gasket? Thanks! Brian

I've now completely stripped my TLR200E and am about to get various bits of it sandblasted, vapourblasted, powder coated and polished. Does anyone have any colour photos they could post showing what an original TLR200E (the one with the red mudguards/fenders and the red/white blue tank and side panels) looks like on both sides so I know what I'm aiming for. I promise to post pictures of the finished article.

Any hints about how to get rid of the spongey feeling when the leaver is pulled on? I have fitted new pads and cable (Honda parts) I Centralise the shoes prior to pinching up the axle etc, But you can still pull the brake arm further once the shoes have engaged on the drum. On my 200 fantic once it gets to a certain point then thats it, they wont lock up but are about 25% better than the Honda.

This is by way of a before pic, the previous owner of this 250f painted and polished everything in silver, not exactly the setup I had in mind with a nice new 6 ply rear knobbly, will update when I get it looking more like a trials bike. Hans
