Trials Transport

New to van ownership and using 2008 Peugeot expert SWB 2.0 120BHP. Its only used to transport one or two bikes twice a week and the rest of the time general use unladen. The only tyre pressures given are for semi laden (48/53PSI) and fully laden (N/A) The above pressure seems to give a harsh ride when unladen and its more 'comfortable' using around 42/44. Any of you guys in a similar position - what pressures are you using.

Thinking of buying a van soon. Considering the berlingo or new shaped Combi.(something small) Can somebody tell me if you can fit a bike in and riding gear or are they too small. Many thanks in advance

Reckon I'd manage to get a trials bike in the back of a series 1 L/R discovery? It's only to pick up another bike so not a permanant solution. Front wheel off I reckon it might? Ta.

on the way to a trial my dave cooper rack broke,the square tube next to the weld has fractured,and has dumped the bike on the road. you can guess at the result !!! has any one else had this happen? is there a better quality rack on the market ? CHECK YOUR RACK NOW !!!!!!!

Hi All I already have a bike rack but will soon need to move two bikes about. For storage reasons, and flexibility can I use the rack and tow a single bike trailer at the same time? Big 4x4 so weight etc not a problem, more of a practical / legal question I guess. thanks in advance.

Very cold at Cogden today. Wonderfully warm in the van!!! Beats a car and trailer any day. OOOOHHHHHH and we didnt get stuck on the way out unlike most people + managed to get a nice pint at the Black Bull afterwards

I'm thinking of buying a Toyota Rav 4 (51 reg). I would also like to use this vehicle so that I can transport my Sherco 250 (2008 model) on the back using a standard (DC) trials motorcycle rack which I have used on a previous 4x4. My concern after viewing a Rav 4 was that the spare wheel which is located on the back door seems to protrude a heck of a lot and could well snag the gear shift/LHS of the bike. Does anyone else use a Rav 4 to carry a trials bike in this fashion?

Someone told me today that all trailers should have a chassis plate or the police can seize it. I know all new trailers need a SVA cert, but I built mine a few years ago (before the new law) Do I need to fit a chassis /vin plate?

Just registered my bike and put it on the road with fully legal plates etc, took it out for a quickie and its too much fun, its gonna end badly I just know it... Tom

My Autowbars rack arrived today, and I've got it fitted OK. There doesn't seem to be any way of stopping the handlebar hitting the rear window of the Uglicar though so it looks like I'll have to sort out some sort of padding. It would help if I could strap the bike down a bit more securely. The straps that I bought from Autowbars with the rack don't have ratchets, and are rather weedier than I expected (not to mention almost twice the price that my local care spares shop charges!). Any reason not to use ratchet straps? It would seem to be better to me, but I obviously don't want to crank everything down so hard that the rack starts to bend. The instructions say to use …

Can anyone recommend a (wind-out) Side Awning for my Hiace? Do Fiamma make a suitable one? I've seen the Thule ones, that attach to roofbars - but they are :shock: :shock: expensive My problem is the Hiace has a low roof and the side door comes out of the roof profile Anyone seen a wind out awning system fitted to a Hiace? i am looking into the cost of getting a bike from Northampton to Fortwilliam , has anyone got any ideas of any good companies/couriers that would get my bike up the road for me ......and yes i know i'm a week late but the bike has only just come up !!!!! CHEERS

First post, we're new to trials having just bought my 9 yr old son an Oset 20r (35kg). I was going to buy the witter detachable flange tow bar along with the trusted DC bike rack. However the reviews on the detachable flanged tow bar do not fill me with any confidence. Then for my local tow bar installer refuse to fit one, it seems to be the sideways movement on the detachable that is the issue. Any advice from people with experience before i purchase one please? (That's if they ever come back in stock). BMW 335D 2016

I don't have a nice toy hauler but I've got a 5th wheel camper with a standard side door. Been thinking of removing some furniture and loading up a gas gas pro inside for multi-day trips. Does anyone load bikes in the side door of a trailer and have any tips, suggestions or warnings they can share? Here is what I have:

I no this has been asked before but I just want to clarify, how does a trials bike sit in a caddy van, approx. 09. I have a lwb transit which is great but after a little runner to go to my local practise area etc. I see a picture on here of a beta in one and you could have easily got a second in it but unsure if that was just a standard caddy or maxi. oh and I have a 4rt don't no if they are any difference in length? cheers guys
