Trials Transport

anybody using one are they any good ive heard the gearboxes are weak i was also wondering if i could fit 3 bikes in a lwb crew cab any opinions would be appreciated my transit got written off by a micra on the m6 on saturday

I'm considering buying an Ifor Williams BV84 (8' x 4' x 5' high) box trailer for transporting trials bikes. Has anybody got experience of using this size trailer? Is it possible to fit three full size trials bikes in? Cheers Scott

Just got myself a vivaro and intend on stripping out the back and starting from scratch. Has anyone got any pics or ideas for a good layout? Ie. good places to build hidden storage for oils and lubes and riding kit etc. has anyone ever raised the ply off the floor and built a draw underneath?? Any ideas or previous experience would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,can anyone help with some info please. My brakes have failed on my citroen c15 diesel 1.9 (2002 model) today I have tried to fix so as to transport my bike on sunday to the local trial but I am stumped !!! following the brakes giving up on me,,i guessed on either calliper seals,brake line leak or master cylinder failure,however there is no leaks from any brake lines,callipers,slave cylinders and I have fitted a new master cylinder,bled the brakes but still no bite and pedal goes to the floor with engine running,i noticed that after pumping the pedal, there is fluid leaking from a thick rubber hose venting from the bulkhead to the floor but do not know what this i…

Saw this motorcycle sport trailer at a recent motorcycle show. Was pretty flash in the flesh and could even carry a camp stretcher or two to sleep in for an overnight trials comp??? The front compartment has battery for lighting and a big area for dirty gear... muddy boots et cetera, hose out when home??? Cost was just under 10,000 english pounds.... don't know if thats good or bad in England? It was $18,000 hearer and seemed reasonable value for the fit out. You can even cook up a storm at lunchtime ...on the bar-b-cue!!! It also has water tanks. I would like it to have a bit more clearance for off-road towing to get into the harder camp ground accesses? Hi, does anyone know if you can get a bike on the back of a honda crv with the spare wheel on the back door? Will it fit with the spare wheel off or does the frame that holds the wheel still get in the way? It's an 05 crv if it helps.

Does anyone know whether the new Transit Custom DCIV ( double cab in van) LWB will take 2 trials bikes? I know the standard custom will but I need to the 5 seats. Any other general feedback, issues to be aware of? Thanks hughesy

Hi all, I recently attended a british national acu youth trial and noticed quite a few of the lads there were in vans that had been kitted out with an area for the bikes in the back and a storage area above, then an extra set of seats behind the drivers seat. I cant find anything on the internet and i wondered if anyone would be able to post a picture of their van to give me an idea as im really looking into doing one of my own. Also could anyone give me some ideas of what van would be best to start off with. thanks.

Thinking of building a bit of a custom trailer with mini lite alloys and checker plate etc... Im just not too keen on having to compress the forks and suspension when strapping it down, anyone got any alternatives? Also any other things you think might be good to add? Thanks.

I no this has been asked before but I just want to clarify, how does a trials bike sit in a caddy van, approx. 09. I have a lwb transit which is great but after a little runner to go to my local practise area etc. I see a picture on here of a beta in one and you could have easily got a second in it but unsure if that was just a standard caddy or maxi. oh and I have a 4rt don't no if they are any difference in length? cheers guys

I just thought I'd post some piccies of the modifications I made to my standard DC rack for the lighting board. As you can see from the photos the lights and number board are all attached perminately to the rack. The off-side light has the number board illuminator blanked off so there is no visable white light from that side. The near-side lamp nicely luminates the rectangular number board. To attach all of this I got two lengths of captive nut channel used with 19" rack (electrical rack cabinets that is) equipment tack welded to the rack and then everything just bolts straight to it. Hi All I already have a bike rack but will soon need to move two bikes about. For storage reasons, and flexibility can I use the rack and tow a single bike trailer at the same time? Big 4x4 so weight etc not a problem, more of a practical / legal question I guess. thanks in advance.

Hi, thinking of changing my car in the new year. Quite fancy an x-type but would like to know if they are any good with a bike rack on. I know they will have plenty of power as I will be going for the diesel. My only concern really is ground clearance at the back when laden with the bike, They do seem to sit lower than my current car which is a Mondeo. Would like to hear from anyone who is using an x-type with a bike rack. Many thanks, Stephen.

Just bought a 2006 1.6 HDI partner MPV. First car i've had with well under 100,000 on the clock. Well it's brill. You can here yourself think whilst driving it and as long as you keep it around 70-75 MPH it returns about 46 MPG. Plenty of room for the bike and stuff and family members as well. that garage door arrangement at the back makes loading a doddle. £300 insurance,£140 a year road tax,tyre's you can afford and relatively cheap service equipment. After driving my 1998 1.2 petrol Clio with 194,000 miles on the clock,pulling bike on a trailer, it's great!

Has anyone seen where this carrier is available? I don't know for certain if it would work on my SAAB (factory V.5 rated hitch), but it seems it or something like it may work. (To haul my OSSA Explorer)
