I have just read in TMX that the BFD club are running the anual Boxing Day trial under the WTC rules!!!!!!! What is the point in this, have'nt we got too many different sets of rules already with two. Why introduce another? I am sure the majority of riders would rather have a normal ride round on a Boxing Day full of Turkey & Booze than attempt to wreck themselves & there bikes. It seems to me that this event catering for the minority, and not the majority! The sport is never going to entice more poeple from the Clubmans course onto the hard course with this type of event! Are the club planning on running more events like this? Or is this just a one off? If …

Hi, just a quick note to say thank you to everyone who offered help and encouragement to me at the Lakes Two day this weekend. I had an unfortunate "off" in i think section four or five on Saturday, resulting in me landing mouth first onto a big pointy rock! (some may say with a mouth this big, how could it have hit anywhere else?) The level of concern from both competitors and general public was truly moving and i would especially like to thank the lady who dashed off to her car and brought me water and tissues, it really was greatly appreciated. Absoutley fantastic trial and despite being well outside my ability, was not the cause of my injury, just an awkward fall th…

I have a situation where I live that I cannot keep a trials bike but still want to ride one. So I had an idea! Now would someone out there in the West Midlands area be willing to look after a bike for me if I bought one, then bring it to trials events on a regular basis and look after it and maintain it after the trial? For this I would pay all costs plus a few bob on top. I don't want to take the p*** so I would make sure it is worth someone's while to do this. Anybody interested in something like this? You can PM me if you want or email me at ian.beardsall AT googlemail.com Cheers Ian

Heard something recently about an insurance scheme where your car has some kind of black box fitted that records the mileage you do and what time of day you drove. If it could be done with bikes it could be a cheap way for younger trials riders to get legal. Just riding on the road in daylight hours for say 20-30 sundays a year, 25 miles a time wouldn't put a lot of miles on your record. How it could be turned off for trials without road use may be a problem though! Mark T

Does anyone know where I could get some bike mounts to use in our Transit van to transport three bikes. They are needed to stop the bikes rolling around and would be used in conjunction with tie downs. Yommee Products do some, but their telephone number is out of service at the moment. Thanks in advance for your help.

I know it's a very long shot. But I'd planned to go riding tomorrow but my bikes water pump has gone and replacement hasn't come in time. Is there anyone in the midland area who be interested in hiring their bike out for the day?? I would leave a cash deposit along with my drivers licence. The bike would be looked after and ridden very very respectably. If so please give me a call asap 07740361069 please leave a message if I can't answer I'm based in Lichfield and will heading earl shilton way but I'm willing to go out of my way if needed Regards James "fingers crossed"

Just thought I'd mention it for people in the mid-Wales/Cheshire area. I was talking to someone at todays event, and three local bike dealers are doing a bike demo day on the 19th January. I believe the three dealers are David Jones, Steve Plain, and Wylie and Holland but I'm not definite on all of them yet, I need to do some ringing tomorrow, I was too busy dragging flags in to speak to anyone at the end of the trial. I do know that the plan is to have the Montesa 4RT, the Sherco 4T, plus a load of Sherco/Gasser 2 strokes. I don't know if there are any other 2 strokes there. If anyone fancies a ride, Graham Evans is the bloke with the details and taking bookings on 01…

Hiya, I've not been able to ride in about three months, but I have heard that there is a Bill Pye (sorry if I spelt that wrongly) organised trial this weekend somewhere near Chop-Gate on the Helmsley-> Stoksley road. I'd like to attend this trial, what club is associated with this event, do I need to be a member, where exactly is this trial, can I just turn up and ride, what is the difficulty level like? Cheers, Bob
