Well had another fantastic day at the Scott the weather could not have been better for spectating, i was up bright and early trusty camera in hand and set off to take my customary 300 to 400 shots and all was going to plan i nearly got all of the riders through reels head which was a real stopper today and i only saw a few cleans with three's being the order of the day,and it was a quick dash over to whaw bridge to get some more shots, by this time john sunter was way in front and flying and its great to see a real local heading the field, well i got a lot pictures here of the riders and i was off again to my last section of the day and here is where it all went wrong for…

Just spotted a 500 Norton trials on eBay. I could be wrong (as usual!) but I seem to remember it being advertised some time ago (by a genuine owner) and then exactly the same ad running again a bit later (by a completely different seller). I therefore assumed the latter ad to be placed by a scumbag scammer and informed eBay accordingly. Now, here's the same ad running again. If anyone's tempted to bid, do please tread carefully and make sure you're entirely happy with the seller's (somewhat dubious, I reckon) authenticity. Apologies to all concerned if my suspicions are entirely unjustified.

Well guys what happens where you come from. This has happened at the last two trials i have attended and it's ruining the event and devalues the hard work people have put in laying a course. Also how do you encourage people to observe. Help needed in my centre or it's all going to fold. Tried to post a poll but failed so options are: 1. If there are only 5 observers they observe 5 sections then move onto the next 5 sections. 2. Riders observe each other. 3. More laps of less sections. 4. Only observed sections to count. 5. Refuse to start the trial till there are enough observers. 6. Ask riders to give up their ride. 7. Give up and go home. Also what do you do…

What's your thoughts on this... Apparently at a trader level there's currently a boom on those roadies buying into off roaders - trouble is they're Enduro/Trail/MX and not Trialsters. Witnessed this first hand yesterday, a group of lads I know have all parked the Hypersports bikes for the winter and are now buzzing round on big trailys. They have a very different view on the countryside to me and you - 'Ride it until you get caught', 'its just a bit of fun' and 'Who's gonna catch me on a 640, eh ?' These are normally responsible people (late 30s), who seem to have gone totally native since getting on the dirt - I have tried explaining how 'green lanes' work and that…

The outcome of a government consultation on a piece of EU insurance legislation could end motorsport in the UK. Yesterday, the Government issued a document for public consultation, which gives an option of implementing the European Court decision known as the ‘Vnuk judgment’. The ruling makes it compulsory for anyone using any form of motorised transport to have third party damage and injury insurance. This will affect all participants in all forms of motorsport. The insurance industry has made it clear to government that third party risks for motorsport activities are uninsurable, not least because of the sheer number of potential vehicle damage claims that woul…

The Colmore Cup Trial was abandoned today when the heavy rain that had been forcast for the Midlands turned to snow early in the event. Snow combined with freezing fog, forced the organisers to make the difficult descision to stop the trial after most of the riders had completed just ten sections. The conditions on the roads around the Cotswold Hills were not safe, visibility was down to a few metres in places along the five mile drive from Dovedale to Hancocks Wood. The Stratford-Upon-Avon Club would like to thank the riders for reacting so well to the descision and also give a huge vote of thanks to all the observers who stuck at their posts until the bitter end. Her…

With the extra bank holiday to celebrate the Royal wedding on Friday 29th April, I was thinking of applying for a permit to put on a little Friday afternoon trial on the Cotswold Hills near Broadway. Ten sections with two routes on each, probably be self observe in the main, but just for a bit of fun. I could tailor it to suit a particular need. Mega hard A route or Begginers Easy route, trail bikes, you could let me know what you want and I'll make it for you. Would anyone be interested, or will you all be watching the big event, glued to your tv screens? Pete

Hello, Want to go practising over the bank holiday weekend but am bored of practising at Back Cown Quarry in Rochdale. I heard a rumour that it is possible to practise at Wern Ddu (Wrexham MCC home ground) and / or somewhere in Oswestry (can remember place name but know that it is home of Oswestery MC events and they do trials holidays), is this true and does anybody have any contact details please. Thanks for your help and keep on hopping!

I got this from the SACU yesterday. What do you think? DISPLAY OF RIDING NUMBERS TO ASSIST OFFICIALS TO IDENTIFY RIDERS DURING AN EVENT IT WAS REQUESTED LAST YEAR THAT MACHINES HAVE THE RIDER LICENCE NUMBER CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON THE FRONT OF THE BIKE. TO SPEED UP THE PROCEDURE THE TRIALS COMMITTEE HAVE DECIDED CLUBS ARE TO PENALISE THOSE RIDERS WHO FAIL TO DO THIS WITH A 10 MARK ADDITION TO THEIR SCORE. IT MAY ALSO HELP RIDRS JUMPING ON THE WRONG BIKE! NUMBERS TO BE BLACK ON A WHITE BACKGROUND MINIMUM SIZE 2 INCHES USING THE LAST THREE DIGITS ONLY. OF COURSE IF CLUBS SUPPLY A RIDING NUMBER THAT WILL SUPERCEDE THE LICENCE NUMBER. JOHN DAVIES (TRIALS COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN)

Evening all - I just want to know what you all think about the alarmingly popular habit of queue jumping? The reason I ask is that I have done a few trials recently where certain riders seem to think it is perfectly acceptable to snort off to the front of the "field", tear-ar*e around the lap of sections, bypass any queues and gain an advantage by riding sections out of sequence. I guess you lads up north don't see any harm in this when the sections are rocky and don't deteriorate. However, South of Birmingham where mud is the norm, roaring off round a course like some demented enduro rider, completing 3 laps in the time it takes most other riders to properly ride one la…
