Just wondering what ratio people run ty 250 monos on? Manual says 50:1 or 80:1 depending on brand. Also I was thinking of running fully synthetic if there's any advantages?

my mono keeps dying, seems like fuel starvation, after a bit of bouncing(not that i do that sort of riding) but it creates the problem it just dies, kick it over and off it goes again, just replaced float valve which everything pointed to, but still have problem any ideas gratefully accepted

I've got an 87' garelli 323, but when i search the net i'm struggling to find much info on the garelli trials bikes??? Anyone know much about them or got any links??

Im in the middle of a restoration and have 2 questions that i need help with please. I want to plate alloy. I want a bright / chrome like / polished plating. Whats the brightest and blingest that is available to average Jo? I need steel tubing , 200mm long / inner 17mm / outer diameter 20mm. This is for internal hub wheel spacers. I'll need to machine a step in them to slip inside the bearings.Im sure you guys will have come across the type before. Where can i get this tubing from - any recommendations ? Thanks

are they all the same? (alloy types!) do the later pinky ones fit the early ty250r bikes?

hi all just a quickie need to replace the main bearings in my ty and have found out that the part number is a 6206 c3 thing is are the bearings handed left and right or can i just buy a pair of bearings thanks

Hi Folks, Just bought two yamaha ty 250 mono of unknown age. Bikes were bought as non running but complete. both 59N chassis id One has a steel tank with a white frame (poss originally red) it has J. Shirt on the flywheel cover and silencer, the steering lock has been cut down on that bike The other bike has a plastic tank, red frame with a dirt ground out rear link (flat where it faces rear tyre) There are differences in the frames with the red frame bike having a couple of brackets with holes on a down tube at kickstart side, the white frame bike does not have that. I could put all the best bits on one bike and keep the other for spares. I…

I'm looking for some good quality pics of a 87' garelli 323 trials bike, so i can get the graphics made for my garelli. the 87' model has a white frame and the graphics are different on the 86' which is the red frame.

Hi All. I have just bought one of these. Is there a difference between a TLM 200R and a TLM 200 (do they both exist?)?. The guy I bought it off ran it pre mix at 40:1. What is factory ratio? I run my other bikes at 50:1 - would the TLM be OK at this ratio? It would save me having two batches around. Are there any good websites for info on this bike? I'd like to find out about any potential problems/issues and any easy, cheap worthwhile mods. I'm used to a TY175 and this thing has enormous instant grunt compared to the Yam. Should be interesting. Anyone here know the correct oil capacity of a pinky fork ?

can anyone help me with this? when i apply the front brake sometimes the lever comes right back to the grip other times its fine? when i apply the front brake fully the disc moves slightly sideways? this is the point where the brake lever pulls all the way to the handlebar grip! also it moves slightly when pushed and pulled by hand as in floating? the bolts that secure the disc dont tighten fully right down so theres slight play in the disc bolt mounting holes is this normal? thanks for your replys in advance! I have a couple broken fins on a Mono cylinder, I'd like to repair them but I'm not sure if the parent material is aluminum or magnesium. I know the side covers are magnesium but not sure about the finned cylinder. If anyone knows which it is, please let me know. Thanks, Jim

I have a 1991 model TY250R with the plastic tank. I have attempted to put new decals on it but within a day they have formed hundreds of bubbles underneath. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there something I can prime/seal the tank with to stop the vapour seeping through?

I took the 1984 TY 250 mono [ new to me ] out for a ride after stripping and cleaning the carb. I seemed to run great [ with the TY carb ] and pulled strong on the run. I had ridden some fast logging roads in 4th and 5th gear, then went to a single-track trail up a mountain. An hour into the ride I turned around to come back, and began picking my way down the rough single track in 2nd and 3rd gear using engine compression to slow the decent. 10 minutes later, the engine quit and would not restart, so, out with the spark plug and it looked to be very black. Bought this last week. Suspension linkages at the rear are very loose, no bearing in the top of the steering head & the front wheel is badly buckled, oh and the engine doesn't run either.
