Hello all, I'm a 41 yr. old trials newb that just picked up a 2005 Montesa 4RT Repsol. I'm coming from a couple years of trail riding in AZ and CO. My house is on a 10 acre lot that I am beginning to add obstacles to. If anybody in the area wants to assist in building the track (and ride of course), let me now! I don't work so I plan on being on the bike a lot - even this winter. In the meantime I will be practicing my ass off (day/night/snow/whatever)! James

I hadn't been in the garage for a while until yesterday, and when I went out there, my girl's 1.25 Sherco wasn't there. As far as I know, it's the only 1.25 Sherco in SE Michigan, so if anyone spots one anywhere near the Detroit metro area please E-mail me at randy.arndt AT gm.com so I can get the police to investigate.

So I rode my first Trialscross in Vegas. Man what a work out. Here comes a bunch of whinning. The sad part was I really worked out for this. I have gone to Endurocross for the last 3 years and sat in the stands yelling GO AROUND, PASS HIM, GO GO GO and several other comments. Let me tell you I was exhausted after the qualifer. My forearms were stiff as a rock, my mouth as dry as a cotton ball. But im ready to do it again next year. This event was much harder than I thought. I have no idea how you could ride a motocross bike around the course. The sad part is I made the main event and did not know it. So I missed riding the main event. Here is a Video. Im the one who…

My local club uses NATC rules for scoring, much like most clubs in the US, I think. Often I seen riders balanced and in control but their bike stalls and they just sit down and curse and accept a five. Could they have had a clean? Back in the 80's and 90's it would be common for someone to stall, then balance, kickstart and continue without dabbing with no penalty. Now it seems when someone stalls, they just take a 5. Here is the NATC rule: The engine stops while footing or while any other part of the machine, except for the tires, is used for support, without forward motion (The motorcycle must be moving forward while footing with a dead engine to avoid a five (5). …

Hi, A friend and I are taking the week from Dec 21 through Dec 28 off to go riding and will be putting our bikes on a trailer, leaving from Minnesota (BRRR) heading south to a more comfortable location. We have plans to go to the TTC in TN. Not knowing what the weather will be in advance and TTC's cancellation policy, I am looking for back up plans to go riding. We may have to scratch our TTC plans to keep some flexibility for winter travel (really sucks trying to plan anything in Minnesota in December). I was really looking forward to getting some instruction as I have not ridden a trials bike since about 1978 (the Sherco 2.9 I just purchased will either delight …

Many times, we are all just like politicians. We gripe a lot about things without really coming up with solutions, or being willing to try things to see if they might actually work because they are new or outside our comfort zone. I have been thinking about this for awhile now and decided it was time to throw it out there as guys like AMiller are starting to look at Gate Trials too, so I decided it would be better to begin a new thread than hijack the others. This is long, and I apologize for that, but I felt it needed detailed explanation to make my argument. So here it is. Since 1990 I’ve been in our club presidency more times than you can count on your fingers. …

I'd like to apologize to everyone for being so harsh for the past years. I was simply trying to prove the point that our riders are not as good as they think they are in the USA. Finally Laia Sanz and the 125cc world riders proved that point once and for all. Seeing is believing, they spanked us! I remember coming back into trials after a 20 year layoff and having to lisen to senior works riders who couldn't ride very well back in the 70s tell me how good they were today. How much better they rode now than back then, it was amazing, they still rode bad, only now they were old! They were only good in their own minds because they were winning national old guy titles ye…

The weather forecast for next weekend is 96 for Saturday and 99 for Sunday with a heat index well above 100. It's been dry so the humidity won't be as bad as it could be. Overnight lows will be in the mid 70s and even with a 9am start time, 1st loop should be in the 80s, 2nd loop 90s, and peaking by the 3rd. It's more humid in the morning so it will feel hot all day but all the sections will be well shaded. After 6 sections, the loop comes back towards the pits so riders could fill up their water bottles. A Camelback would be a good idea. If your coming from California and think that 105 heat in the desert is not a big deal, southern style heat is a different matter. The …

Hello. I'm looking at possibly spending winters in southern Arizona and would like to find out if there are specific area;s that are more trials focused. The plan would be to rent in an RV park and hopefully be able to ride near by. Thanks for any input.

Just received my 04 Duluth world round DVD, only watched the first day so far, but what a cracking trial. The rain may of spoiled it for the spectator, but the sections were brilliant in those condition. Doug, looked to be riding spot on, the crash and a five after, that! I would of put down to being shook up by the crash, then a chain off between two little rocks in a stream, just wasn't going to be his day no matter what he did. Best looking trial English type trial I have seen in another country, won't miss 05 thats for sure. Ho and get the DVD by trials TV, well worth it!! yours is on the way Kinnel.
