In the 1980s I used to muck about on trials bikes such as a Moto Gori 250, never done comps just enjoyed trying to become better at using the bike. so now I want to buy a trials bike for much the same reasons and maybe in some distant future have a go at an easy beginners event but I want to enjoy taking time to get used to any machine I buy. Am I missing something or am I correct in thinking its Sunday morning and still there are no results posted on any website for what is described as the premier Pre 65 event in the world. Over the last 12 months organisers have been promising to improve communications etc etc, well how about putting some results up guys n gals, there are a lot of people who were following the trial from long distance and overseas. You manage to get the daily results up and rolling for the SSDT before the end of that days competion so why is it so different to the Pre 65 event. Yes, you are correct, I didn't get a ride this year or last year !!

Here are the details for the Stratford-Upon-Avon round of the Sammy Miller Classic Bike Championship on 20th May. Please note: Trail bikes are most welcome on a no award basis and there is an easy (sidecar) route for riders of any machine who just want a days riding in the Cotsowlds. Sorry if its been done to death before,but recently I've been reading books like 20 years of Twinshock Trials. Looking at some of the British lightweight bikes from the era of SHM ruling with his Bultaco,it made me realise that companies like Greeves,Sprite,James and Dot were pretty much all up there with it.In another book,the British two stroke trials bikes one,it says more than once about supplies of Villiers engines drying up.Cotton for instance used the 170cc Minerelli engine,but it seems it was not very popular - compared to the Villiers. After reading in the Classic trials press, the Pre 65 Scotish allows tubless type tyres to be used with a tube in their regulations....but not without. Could someone enlighten me with the logic behind this and also do tubless tyres run without a tube... offer any proven advantage and if so what. Thanks

I HAVE JUST RECENTLEY AQUIRED A C15 BASKET CASE IAM NOW REBUILDING SLOWLY WHICH I INTEND TO USE FOR GREEN LANEING / TRIALS . WHEN IT COMES TO MODIFICATIONS LIKE THIS I COME UNSTUCK , CAN ANY ONE ADVISE ME ON HOW TO CHANGE THE FORKS FROM THE ORIGINAL ONES TO A MORE MODERN REPLACEMENT SET. ? ARE THERE FORKS I CAN REPLACE THAT ARE EASYER TO FIT THAN OTHERS ? Lately there is some controversy because of a new rule in italy that accepts doing a loop inside the sections and crossing its own track. FIM has a rule that says it is a 5 if: - "The motorcycle does a complete loop, crossing its own track with both wheels. And in the Spanish RFME there is one much similar that says it is a 5 if: - "The motorcycle does a complete loop, crossing its own track with any of the wheels". While in the ACU the rule for a five is: - Travelling in a forward direction against the direction of the section". Both in TRS22A Stop and TRS22B Non-stop. Hi all...I'm the recent owner of an '85 Cagiva TR350 which is missing the air filter. I can buy filter foam to make up another one but I'm a bit confused as to where it actually sits in the air box. The parts manual shows a screen and a flat, rectangular filter, which must sit somewhere in the air box, but there seems to be no tabs or flat surface for such a filter to seal against or anything to hold the screen and filter in place. There is some mystery nut shown on the parts diagram which is floating in the air and not connected to anything. It would make sense that the screen goes in against the filter then is bolted down into place to secure it...but no bolt is shown…

Hi, I would like kindly to ask an advise. I have VM22 round slide carburettor in my garage. It is bolt on type.I wonder if somebody has an experience in using Mikuni VM 22 round slide bolt on carburettor in B40 trial version engine. My engine has compression rate around 6:1 or a little bid less and one inch long inlet spacer. I am trying to find the proper jetting for this Mikuni VM22 carburettor for using that in my Bsa. The 34th Pre65 Trial of Mons was again a great success: 108 riders from 9 countries (Germany, Finland, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland... and Belgium) enjoyed the "vintage" spirit of the splendid sections at the Terril de Ciply. Would any restorers give me a little guidance on a quote I have received for some chroming works from a company based in the UK. I wanted a set of swm mudguard stays and kickstart shaft chromed and have received a quote of stg 345 plus vat.. Owing to the fact I had some fork legs chromed last year for around 175 I thought this a tad excessive... or does this seem the going rate.. Thanks

Hi all, not been on a bike for 15 years ish and very new to trials. I was looking at a more modern bike like 2005 or newer but i have just come accross a bargain restoration project locally and the guy just wants shut. Im in need of help please as i know very lkittle about bikes and a list of what to look for initially would be massively appreciated or if you could point me in the right direction to a thread or something. the bike needs a few bits which im aware of and ill list these with a few picks. As i was suffering from a bad attack of manflu yesterday i didnt take any piccys at the show Did anybody take any? Especially of the "works" 340's on the Bultaco stand? When i eventually get the James finished the next "project" will be to get the 199B Sherpa sorted and i'm sort of thinking about modding the swing arm and spindle so piccys would be great. Also be nice for people who could not make it there. I hate manflu. Should have been at Burrycliffe today i like Burrycliffe but feel So some piccys would cheer me up

im currently having problems with my bsa bantam d3 trails bike and was wondering if any one could offer some hints or help as i have nearly run out of ideas. ok so heres the problem. When ever i try and kick start the bike it wont start cold. The bike will bump start easily enough and once warmed up after 5 or 10 minutes will kickstart first time, every time with little effort. I have changed the spark plug for a brand new ngk plug (correct numbers) I have checked and the plug is definatly sparking. The plug gap is correct 0.018 1inch The contact breaker points gap is correct. i have cleaned the points up i have checked the air filter and it is clean The bike has…
