Hello my bike has knackered 11.9" shocks and everyone says to fit 340mm but when I open the gap to 340 my chain comes hard up against the swinging arm. Does anyone know whether my weight (14.5 stone) on the pegs will be enough to counter this? If not do you know where I can buy affordable 11.9" trials shocks please? Thanks John. PS sprocket is 62 tooth. photos show 11.9 in place and 340 gap. Gap closes enough to lift chain free at 310mm by the way

Is it just me or is anyone else seeing the beginning of the end for the larger pre units? Most the 'classic' trials these days are all geared towards the twin shocks, Bantams, and C15's. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not against the bikes or the riders, but will the heavier weight machines (and rider for that matter) have a place in classic trials in say 4/5 years time? I did a trial today (... up front I'm not the best rider in the world, far from it) and in my class there were about 4 entries (easy route, pre unit) out of a field of around 70. So, did I enter the wrong trial or do I need to change my machine? I think it's sad that there are only a few trials left…

Why oh why have you changed the rules yet again for your series? Why do you keep on trying to kill off the big British bikes?

Hi, can anyone help me with any information or photographs of Wasp RT4 with Villiers engine circa 1964. I am in the process of rebuilding a RT4 and this information would be most useful to achieve the correct period look.

Hello all - I'm a veteran sportsbike rider - Ducatis and Suzukis - but I started decades ago on a Yamaha enduro. I was just offered a 1970 Bultaco Sherpa T 350 that has sat in a barn for the past 40 years. It does not run, but the piston is not seized and turns over in the cylinder head. Are there adequate supplies of parts to restore this gem in the rough, or am I self-inflicting major brain damage if I do this project bike? Thanks!

Greetings, I have owned Bultacos for over 40 years. Still have my M85 Alpina bought new in the fall of 1972. Rode it in enduros and trials for several years, gave it to a friend for his son's "yard bike", retrieved it, restored it in 1996 and it now resides in the house. Recently I came upon a Sammy Miller High Boy with M151 running gear. These are pretty rare in the US and I am in the process of recommisioning it. It runs, supposedly has a rebuilt motor, but needs tidying. I'm have a heck of a time finding information it. Is there any literature on these bikes? One thing I'd like to find is a couple of the original "Sammy Miller Product" decals, these were the small,…

Hi all, hope to see some of you over the weekend riding around Cowcombe Woods near Stroud, I'll be there on the BSA. I've entered the Clubman route firstly because you can't change routes and secondly you can never predict how hard the Expert route will be especially in a Golden Valley Classic trial. After saying that I bet I backed the wrong horse :-( Maybe catch up for a beer after the trial?

So the message on the SSDT Pre65 webpages is that the trial will not be going over Blackwater in 2011 due to environmental considerations. That's a real shame. Nor will the route go over Callart Pass. Back to two way traffic on the Mamore Road. At least it's better than the ride back on the tarmac road although the 'new' sections on the roadside were good especially for spectators. Complaints have also been received from competitors about the severity of these two parts of the route. What does anyone think? To me cross country work like this is one of the best things about the event. Anyone know where the route will go instead of over Blackwater? Two way traffic on t…

Hi, does anyone have details of the construction of the 1950's Canterbury trials sidecar bodies. I have a chassis and want to build a body. I have quite a few pictures of the outside, clearly aluminium, but don't know if there is a ply or ash frame and floor. I would be grateful for any information, dimensions would be great. Thanks

Guys Can you help , did anyone other than Sammy Miller make a nickel [or chrome] plated frame for the 250 Bultaco Sherpa 198 series ? Cheers Greg can post a picture later , but just wondering as I know Mike Whitlock did make frames for the TY's & RL Suzukis , did he ever build a Bultaco frame or was this always Sammy's business.
