can anyone out there in betaland tell me if 2004 plastics will fit my 2002 rev3? the 04 has the easier access airfilter but it would be no great hardship if i still had to remove the whole mudgaurd as on the 02,as long as the 04 mudgaurd fits over the 02 airbox.

Hello I'm getting ready to purchase my first trials bike. I found a local 2004 beta rev3 270 in great condition, the owner was injured and the bike was only ridden one season. I'm located in Lancaster Pennsylvania he wants $3500 for the bike. Is this a fair price? I've seen some priced lower but it is in great condition. I'm going to compete in the AMA D6 trials series for points. Is a 2004 rev3 a good bike to start? Or would it benefit me to spend a little more look for a newer bike 2007+? I know in trials the rider is the most important part but I do want a modern machine. Thanks for the help.

New to trials bikes and lhs kick start. Tried kicking over whilst on sidestand. Oh dear. Now sidestand bends under the bike when down (no good at all) and threatens to rub on back wheel when up. Couldn't 'straighten it out' in situ. Have taken it off and bracket looks 'bent/weak/dodgy. Not obvious to me what to do. Anyone with experience of this problem that can help? Thanks

Having had the rear brake seize on me during my last comp I have stripped the rear caliper put new seals, pots and pads in but am still not getting enough pressure to lock the rear if the bike is on a fast tickover in 1st (it will lock if rotated by hand. Am fairly happy that its well bled (fluid is running clear) but have decided to also replaced the master cylinder rubbers. This is my first attempt at this job so any advice would be appreciated. The pedal and pedal link arm were also pretty ropey so I have planned to replace these as well. I would also be interested to know what a "good" pedal looks and feels like following a full refurb (eg does it lock the rear whe…

Following the bike overheating at the end of the last comp, investigation led me to a very nice bodge job by the previous owner around a crack in the water pump housing filled from the inside! This has now given way resulting in the overheat. I have elected not to repeat the bodge but to carryout a full inner clutch casing change! Having released all of the bolts, the old casing appears to be catching on a rubber spacer on the lower front edge. The only way I can see of getting around this is that the bash plate needs to come off? Is this correct or am I missing something??? Also any other things I should be aware of / checking?? Rob

I can see various overheating solutions and a lot of good information posted, but I can not see anything that is related to my problem, so hear goes. I have just returned home after a 3 hour trail/Trial ride. Everything was going well until I had just completed a 10ft steep incline and as I reached the top there was an allmighty explosion of steam blowing off from my radiator cap. It is a real cold day and the fan has been coming in from time to time. the bike has ran well all day and am not sure where to start, I returned home from the ride and have since filled the radiator back up with water/anti-freeze mix. What do I need to check before my next ride? Any help will…

Saw a 2005 Beta rev 80 today. Its got a silver back mudguard but the rest of it is the same colour orange as the 2004 model. I was wondering if anyone knows if the 125/200/250/270 are finished in the same colour. As the 2005 model looks red in all the images i have seen of it.

While riding in the back yard I noticed my daughters 80s fan seems to run all the time. I am worried that this will burn the fan up. Not much of a mechanic and don't know what to check. Looks like others have the opposite problem. Any help would be great.

Hi, I had my 2005 Beta, 125cc, shipped to Mexico and somewhere on the way the carburator was "lost" So here I am with the bike but no carb. Any idea what will fit? I googled that the original is a Mikuni VM26/208. But will any VM26 do? Any other suggestions that will make the bike run? Gracias!

What are the major differences both technically and ridewise between the 2005 & 2006 Beta 270? I rode a 2006 over the weekend and it just felt perfect. I was wondering if it was light years ahead of the 2005 model. The reason I ask, I found a 2005 model with about 6 hrs on it for a price that I can swing. The new '06 is just out of my range. What do you think? Be honest....

Anyone know anything about the new 125? I have heard reports about earlier models being a bit down on power. I am thinking of changing from my 125 Sherco but would appreciate any info or reports on the latest 05.

Hi all my new to me beta rev 3 250 has a few issues, as anyone had problems with the front forks sticking or just generally locking and not moving. what's the best way to get it sorted I don't mind servicing the forks myself its just a bit of a weird one. Can anyone confirm if the rear shock bearings are BLRB366748AA as i'm struggling to find a good local supplier who has them in stock. Thanks for any help its a appreciated.
