So my Beta is behaving in typical Italian fashion... looking beautiful, but perhaps not quite Germanic in its assembly. The exhaust leaks where the muffler and the header join, basically right behind the carb. I pulled the muffler off and the rubber rings are in there, but when it's all joined up the fit isn't terribly positive. I can probably keep ignoring it, but if anyone has suggestions on sealing it up better I'm all ears. It's a '13 EVO 300 2t by the way.

I'm just back from a ride on my 03 rev and found out it did not have the traction I wanted. The first few rides on it ( purchase recently ) where great, no traction issue, today the mountain I go was a little '' greasy '' and I did not like the feel of the bike. I know the tubless Vee Rubber on the rear is not the greatest, but I think my lack of knowledge is the first problem. I ride TS with tube type Michelin front and back at 5.5psi fr and 3.5 to 4 psi back and rear IRC at 5.5psi. I rode this morning with 5.5 front in the Dunlop and 4.5 in the Vee Rubber. By how much was I off ? Guy

Good afternoon all, in new to the forum so I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I've recently acquired a beta rev 3 2000 model that had a few issues. The wiring on the bike had been chopped and changed and generally a right mess, so I have stripped the old wiring and have now attempted to put it all back together. My stator has a loom attached to the CDI, 2 come out of the CDI onto the coil. The remaining 2 wires from my stator are yellow (plugs into the reg/rec) and black (presume this just wires to my kill switch? Coming from my reg/rec I have 4 wires... I would like to wire in my fan/thermostat. However I'm not quite sure how to do this, or sure what else needs …

Hi there, I'm working on a beta for a friend and it is needs lots of work but from my limited time riding it, it is really didn't feel jetted properly. Has anyone dialed in and noted their settings? It'll likely be used from sea level to 2500ft most of the time. I'm sure I could make it better than it is but wanted some guidance. And yes, I did try the search function with no clear result. Thanks!

Lampkins have a couple of pages of recommendations for SSDT preparations. One of these is a piece of foam pushed down between frame and front of air box by the top of the shock on an evo. This will cause it to touch the top of the muffler. How do you ensure it does not melt or catch fire?

With a little bit of luck some may be able to point me in the correct direction. I have a 2000 rev 3 with the USD front forks. Being the only year Beta did the USD forks in the Rev 3 there is no information out there on them or parts. Although mine are working ok however they are a bit on the sad side of things and are sagging. All the replacement springs i have found so far say they fit Techno, Rev 3 and Evo but there is no information as to if it fits USD models. I know a few of the Technos had USD forks so does anyone know is they where the same as the Rev 3 and the spring's fit and are still available. Or if there is any other springs out there that …

  9. I did a search and came up empty handed. I noted that the 2t and 4t Evo's have different part numbers for the shift levers. Are there any aftermarket shift levers available? The OEM one had a fight with a rock.... Wardo

Hi Beta riders! Is there any good alternative for Beta 80' jr and sr silencer? Like 2010 onward (maybe even earlier models) Original is just piece of useless metal. Mounting will tear or break even on moderate use (I haven't seen a single unit which is not welded or fixed otherwise). It will immediately start scraping to tire. And in general quite loud, I'd prefer something more quiet. Have you had a chance to replace it with something better?

Over my last 2 outings, i have notice a knocking sound from the front suspension, its as if there is some play somewhere but i can not find it. Everything seems tight. It does not do it all the time probably noticed it 10 times in my last trial..Its only a few months old, and i only get out on it every couple of weeks so its not as if it gets hammered. Its not done anything big , i am just a clubman rider.. Any Suggestions what it is ??

my rev3 270 has suddenly started ticking over realy fast. when i turn tickover screw out to slow it down it stalls. i have cleaned carb and filter and checked airbox and throtle cable has freeplay also checked the timing hadnt moved but all seems fine. any advice would be great

  16. Chaps, What a nightmare day! Firstly, the rear brake locks on when it warms up!! (it wasn't working too well so threw new pads in, now thinking it's a cylinder thing as there isn't much piston/pad movement either!!)... So, loosened the brake off completely...next section, mid way through....engine dies! Tried new plug - no joy... Checked again, no spark at all!! Any thoughts/experiences on this before I go for the guessing game!! Are there any known issues with the stator on the Evo's? Or, any other electrical gremlins? Was working fine prior, no performance issues at all.... AAggggghhhhh

Looking for a little advice. I have taken the exhaust off of my 2004 Rev 3 270. There was silicone sealer between all the pipe joints. I do not know if the PO did this or if it comes from the factory that way. I have new O-rings on order and when I reassemble it, should I put hi-temp silicone on them? Thanks for the help. Richard
