Any ideas/leads on sourcing spoke kits for a Grimeca hub/Akront rim found on my 1982 TL320?

Dear all, I have just found an Aprilia TXR312 from ’88, used for competition for the first 5 years or so, then stored (or forgotten) for most of the 25 years until today. Is that Rotax engine an easy transplant to an early (1981) SWM 320? If so, is such a transplant OK and within the spirit of modern twinshock rules, like electronic ignition, modern fork internals and so on…? Or should this Aprilia better be stored for another couple of years, waiting for the hype of early air-cooled monoshock bikes …? Please, tell me what you think of all this! What is considered the best set up for these forks ? At present running 220ml of TQF (approx7w)and works OK, but open to suggestions. I weigh about 13 stones. The fork caps have a screw at the bottom, presumably to release pressure but seized solid at present, don't remember them having this, is it a modification ? Thanks Ross

What's considered to be a good compromise angle for steering angle ? Currently about 23 degrees. Thanks

Hi, I fitted new carbs to my bikes and did some testing on Sunday morning. Also tried my action cam out for the first time. The 320 is sorted but the 125 still soots up the plug after a short while. I'm scratchin my head and a few other places besides. The carb is brand new, original spec. I have fresh 102 octane with no methanol mixed at 50:1 full synthetic oil. The exhaust has been cleaned and the middle box repacked. The timing is spot on and a brand new NGK BP5ES plug. The filter is clean, there are no leaks, new crank seals. To be continued...........

Hello people, can anyone help me locate a kick start lever to suit the knuckle that uses a circlip, it's for a Jumbo but I think any kick start lever for a TL trials bike will fit. Cheers. PS: I've attempted to ask in "classifieds" but I don't get any options to let me write a wanted post, in fact I get no options at all. Any clues as to what is happening there ?

Hello I need buy a news shocks for my tl? which manufacturer recommendation : njb, magicals, hagon?

i have seen a few bikes with straight through exhaust mufflers and like the idea but also like the look of the original exhaust. i decided to cut one open and see what i could do. i have attached some photos that should be self explanitary but if not please ask. i fitted it to the bike this afternoon and it sounded different but still as quiet as the original setup, it also felt quite a but more perky but this was only in quite a small area so i will give it a proper test on monday once its painted and refitted.

Ok chaps, Just about to split my 1982 TL 320 for the first time, plenty of experience of Spanish twinshocks but not Rotax motors. So rather than just go at it I thought I'd canvas opinion about what to watch out for and basics, i.e. which case to leave the box in, etc, etc. Thanks all.

Shortly after I bought my TL320, I saw a website with an animation, demonstrating how the air/fuel mixture makes its way from the carb into the cylinder through the disc valve and crankcase. Now, of course, when I want to show it to a friend, I can't find it again. If anyone knows where I can find the animation again, I'd sure appreciate a link! Thanks, Ted

Anybody with a Jumbo when your next playing around with it in the shed, could you take some rough measurements for me please. Mainly the rear axle spacer #17 as per below pic, mine measures 32 mm, I'm trying to determine why my left rear shock splays out slightly towards the bottom shock mount whilst the right appears near perpendicular, also when I measure the shocks from centre to centre across the top mounts I get 233 mm but at the bottom I get 245 mm so definitely some 10 - 12 mm of splaying but I don't know if this is normal for a Jumbo. If it is normal, like a Cota 349/4 for instance, I'm curious why the left shock seems to be doing all the splaying ?

Anyone out there know the SWM factory mechanics who wrenched on the Works bikes ? Might be interesting to pick thier brains about engine mods ,ect. Has anyone tried one of the flatslide carbs on a 320? Cheers ,Jim

Hey everybody finally got a cable from Martin for my decompression valve on my Rotax 320 but my brain won’t figure out how to get that valve hooked up to that cable as the valve wants to be squeezed and the cable wants to pull I know it’s simple I just don’t get it is there anyone who could take a picture of theirs or explain? Here is number 2. http://www.trials.com.au/forum/download/file.php?id=6438 Some differences from number 1. - Different triple clamps [like Bullys]. Different side covers. Only one shock mount position on number 2. Things to fix - find a decomp.; clutch cable knackered and other clutch ease of use mods; find a flywheel cover protector; and get two kick starter stops to protect cases for no. 1 and no. 2; new side covers, seat and rear fender; modify the enduro bend kicker supplied with it to get it fitting against the frame when not being used.

The points on my TL320 look a little corroded, so I'd like to replace them. Anyone know of a source in the US for these parts? Common with a snowmobile, or ultralight maybe? I also need the flywheel puller. Will the "MOTION PRO FLYWHEEL PULLER SKI DOO ROTAX CDI IGNITION, 62-2037", fit? Looks like it has lots of options on the hole spacings, but I can't find the dimensions listed. It's pretty pricey, so I would hate to buy it, just to find out it doesn't fit. Any other sources for a puller? Stupid question: is the flywheel nut a "normal" thread, or reverse thread? Stupid question #2: how do people generally hold the flywheel when loosening or tightening the flywhe…

Have a look at the swm at 13.11, not an engine I recognise, chains on the opposite side as is kickstart. Any ideas ? (Ducman at 23.10 -Greeves at 27.52- Ecki at 28.19)
