After moving the pegs down and back, the next hurdle was the brake pedal. It was quite a mind boggle to fabricate a lever that could be covered whilst still being planted on the footpeg. What made ir even more of a challange was the lack of space available due to having a swingarm from a TX 300 Aprilia fitted. Anyway, after a few tries and mods it now works 'Like' the original and I'm happy.

Before I get the hacksaw out does anyone have a diagram showing the location of the baffle plates on a 320 ? Have pushed a long screw driver through from where the silencer joins the middle box but cant find anything. The box has been previously welded and im wondering if one or both of the plates has been removed. The baffle tube is still present at the entry point. There is somthing in there rattling as you can hear it when the engine is running but shaking the box it doesn't rattle ?

Anyone have a good source for the 280 pistons? I’m going to rebuild my 1982 TL320 and will probably need a oversized piston. Heard you can use 583 Ski Doo or Sea Doo pistons. I definitely want a two ring piston.

Could someone please tell me what this thread size should be, my Jumbo currently has an unsightly M12 x 1.5 hex head bolt and nut fitted which will only screw in about 10 mm before it meets resistance. It's been messed up by a previous owner as the thread in the head looks awful, I would just like to return the thread to what it was originally either by re-tapping or helicoiling and then fitting a suitable socket head bolt to block it off. A couple of pics attached, Cheers.

Any SWM / Rotax engine aficianados out there for some advice? I've recently acquired a very clean SWM 320TL which I suspect has had an easy life. The previous owner told me on collection that he thought it had picked up some sediment in the carb' having been sat for a couple of years, and I'd need to give it a good clean. I briefly ran it, and he was right, it was displaying the classic signs of a gummy carb and blocked pilot jet... it wouldn't run at low revs, needing choke to keep it alive as they dropped, though was okay at larger throttle openings. So, I fitted a new pilot jet, (a size 60, though I know some folk say a 65 is best) and cleaned the carb' including…

Those who followed my last thread re: carb jetting will recall that I opened the carburetor on my recently-purchased TL320 only to find that the idle jet was completely missing. As I looked at the following diagram, I noted that there is also an emulsion tube that is shown, (part # 9980, labeled number 5 on the diagram) apparently fitted above, and in the same passage as the idle jet (labeled #7). I ordered a selection of idle jets in various sizes, and I also ordered the emulsion tube shown in the parts list accompanying the diagram. The emulsion tube does not fit. It is far too long. The idle jets fit, and the bike runs beautifully with the idle jet in place, and no …

I have been searching for a while for a good quality steel SWM/ Gori tank for a red and white Gunaco. It appears they are almost unobtainable in good condition so... There seems to be a few of the later yellow acerbis plastic tanks around so could someone tell me if its at all possible to repaint these to a good durable standard or am I going to have to keep looking. On this note I have come across a firm that will make new tanks to order if they have enough to make it worthwhile around 8/10 at a price of around 300 stg anybody fancy making up an order. Thanks

Guys thanks for your help, I'm now the owner of a 1980 TL320.,,.brought her back at 1pm....stripped down by 5pm ready for powder coating and refit. No nasty surprises but a few things I've noticed: Gearing seems high....running 14/40 at the moment.....thinking of going to a 13 front. Clutch is light, positive and I can get nuetral too...easier than my my Beta REV3! But there is no undertank lever lightener system....cable goes from lever direct to clutch cover. Shes a little crackly on the noise front....is it possible to repack the silencer....which weighs more than boat anchor? Trans oil.....10/40? Any advise welcome
